Elio Motors’ Nationwide Tour Team Connects with Consumers, Builds Relationships from Coast-to-Coast
Paul Elio has a saying – The “E” in Elio stands for “Everyone.” It’s not a car just for the wealthy. Or just for gear heads. Or just for environmentalists. No, his vision for Americans is an affordable vehicle that just about anybody can find a reason to drive.
The executive? They can drive the Elio into the city for work and save some miles on the posh luxury sedan. The soccer mom? Why drive that minivan to work with six empty seats? The ‘clunker’ owner? Why not ditch that gas guzzler for something reliable that gets up to 84 MPG and has a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty? College students, high school students, first time buyers…pretty much anybody fits the profile of a potential Elio owner.
That’s why Paul often refers to the Elio as the vehicle for “Everyone.” And because Elio is such a good fit for so many people, it made sense to get the prototype out of the garage and onto a nationwide, city-by-city tour. The tour is such an important and revolutionary part of the company’s launch and long-term strategy that Paul entrusted its operation to one of the company’s top executives, Jerome Vassallo, Vice President of Sales. Jerome has been leading a team of committed road warriors on a cross-country tour to introduce Elio Motors live and in person to as many people as possible.
To date, the tour has been to more than 80 cities stretching from Florida to Seattle, and San Diego to Boston. In October, Jerome and his team (which includes his wife Pam and their sons Jerome and Destin along with, Neil, Kevin, Ty, Rudy and Samantha (Sammy), Elio’s Social Media guru. This hard-working team will make appearances at the Marine Air Corps Air Show in Miramar, California (Oct. 3-5); the Albuquerque, N.M., Balloon Fiesta (Oct. 8-12); and the Rome, Georgia Wings Over North Georgia Airshow (Oct. 17-19). The company will finish the month of October at a yet-to-be-determined location in Birmingham, Alabama (Oct. 24-26). The tour also has stops scheduled for Las Vegas, NV, Shreveport and New Orleans, LA; Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Jacksonville, FL and Richmond, VA before the end of the year. The Elio Motors tour has been an important building block for the company, as it gives people the opportunity to see, touch and feel the vehicle as well as experience how Elio Motors plans to revolutionize the transportation industry. The tour team is always there, on the front lines, meeting our fans and future customers, answering questions and helping folks see how the Elio fits their own personal lifestyle.
To date, nearly 35,000 people have reserved a spot in line to purchase an Elio. Many of these people made their reservation after seeing the aerodynamically styled vehicle in person and learning about its many positive attributes from the tour team.
“The response to our tour stops has been amazing, as people are typically lined up a couple hundred deep for the opportunity to “imagine” their own commute, complete with aggressive shifting, tailpipe noises, and neighborly waving,” said Paul Elio, founder and CEO of Elio Motors. “It’s one thing to read about the Elio or watch a video online, but, the tour stops have been instrumental in engaging our fans’ senses. To experience the vehicle up close, and personal, helps our team establish a much deeper connection with our fans and newcomers alike. For me personally, it has been gratifying to watch people interact and fall in love with the vehicle.”
Elio Motors has wowed crowds at such major events as the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions, the Sundance Film Festival, Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Balloon Fiesta, Woodward Dream Cruise, Daytona Bike Week, New York’s Internet Week, Comic-Con and many more.
As the company marches closer to production, the tour team will continue to cultivate relationships with anyone and everyone looking forward to a fresh new approach to transportation; or just a cool new way to get from point A to point B.
“It’s is an amazing commitment our tour team has made, as it is not easy to criss-cross the country, going from city to city, hotel to hotel and living out of a suitcase for 6-9 months at a time,” Elio said. “Jerome and the tour team answer the bell every day to make sure our fans have a great experience at our tour events. If you get a chance to visit an event, don’t just take a look at the vehicle, look for the folks on the team. They love sharing their passion for this project. Come by and say “hi” when you can, you won’t be disappointed, and they would love to see you.”
