Hey everyone, I'm back! Did you miss me? I'm sure some of you have but others are saying to themselves,"Crap, she's back!" I have spent the last month or so taking care of my Mom, while my sister ( who lives with mom ) was helping her daughter move from Denver to Seattle.

I've put 4500 miles on the Subaru in the last month, which is almost what I budgeted the yearly mileage to be. Up to Moorhead, MN back to Arvada, CO back to Moorhead and back home to Arvada again. FYI to speed demons - South Dakota raised their interstate speed limit to 80 MPH on April 1st. Moorhead to Arvada this time was 13 hours and 10 minutes. ( my personal best ) That included 7 construction zones and 2 pit stops. When I first moved to Colorado in the early 80's, it took over 18 hours at 55 mph to get home.

We ran up to the Family farm near Fertile, MN to see how things wintered over. No damage to the buildings but lost several large branches off trees and of course one was laying across the driveway. Thank goodness in was small enough to drag out of the way. Lots of Deer activity in the yard (scat everywhere) and we saw several areas just inside the woods where they have been sleeping. Should be a good year for deer hunting this fall. Didn't see the Eagles but it's still to early for them to be nesting. Planning another trip up in about 4 weeks to help my brother clean out the downed branches and trees in the woods.

On May 3rd I will be tobacco free for 3 months. That may not sound like much but I've been a smoker for more than 45 years and have never made it past 5 weeks without giving up and smoking again. I've used blu e-cigs and nicotine lozenges. I have pretty much given up on the e-cigs as they make me want a cigarette and you can't break the hand to mouth action using them. Now I've started cutting back on the number of lozenges per day to cut the nicotine habit. That may take awhile, as I have become more addicted to nicotine from using them but they are still better than smoking.

Now I have to catch up on 5 weeks of reading what I've missed!

Not much to catch up on. No news on the AVTM Loan, no news on the engine, and the trolls are still out in force with new ones joining every week

Yes! Welcome back! That's quite a road trip you took. I did the Denver to Chicago route years ago. wasn't looking forward to going through North Platte on the way home (summertime in cattle country ).

It's already pretty ripe. On my way back to Arvada, the feed lot near North Platte was full and the wind was from the east-southeast so the smell stayed with me for several miles.

Hey all! I just read an article from cars.com about the U.S. manufactured part content of cars sold in the U.S. The top cars sold with the most U.S. Manufactured parts in them and assembled in the U.S. #1 Toyota Camry with 75%. Yep it beat out the F-150 after its revamp for 2015. If I remember right the F-150 now has less than 60%. U.S. Manufactured parts. One of the lowest, The Chevy Traverse less than 5% and assembled in South Korea. Guess our Elios will be "All American" compared to any thing else on the street!;)

Hey everyone! It's been awhile so here's what I've been up to. I am coming up on my one year anniversary of being a non smoker February 3rd is the official one year. We've been working on our duplex getting some things done that we have put off. We need to get it looking good, in case we have to sell it, to build our new place in El Paso County.
We have been working with an architect who is designing our dream home. It's nothing fancy or big, just over 1000 sq ft on the main floor with a full basement. The main floor will be totally handicap accessible. No we don't need it but better to do it now, than wait to have it done, if we do need it. Basically one floor living with a place to go (basement) in case of bad weather like ...tornados.

Well, south of you it's a gloomy day. Off and on drizzle, but no snow so far.
We're at about 10" and still coming down hard, with a strong wind building drifts across my driveway. The airport is closed, Roads are a mess and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon! On the bright side it should let up about 6PM. :D
Then we get to dig out!:( Oh Joy!
