Please help stamp out the use of the fake word "irregardless". "Regardless" is the word you are looking for. Makes me laugh every time I hear it. Why not dis-un-ir-regardless?
I like how irregardles sounds and rolls off the tongue too late for change. Irregardless, it's good to laugh periodically.

I like that electric bike a lot, I just think that the price is way to high to be sold widely.

Where I live I couldn’t even think of riding one, because of the difficulty charging since there are no garages to be found and there is no access to outlets on the streets anywhere. I see many people with scooters though, they cost less than half (or much less), have a greater range, can be used where the electrical grid doesn’t take you, don’t require insanely priced battery replacements after a few years and so on. So no, unless electrical motorcycles are made at an affordable price-point and the charging infrastructure improves, these kind of motorcycles won’t sell in bigger numbers. At that price it’s a novelty, not a tool.

Govecs, the Polish manufacturer of the e-bike, seems more viable. European companies by the scooters for city transport and municipalities put up a lot of charging stations in recent years. All that is missing in U.S. cities for the most part.
Tesla is in the process of building that super charger network.

I just found a full size 3000W electric scooter within an hours drive.
It has all the features I'd want. 43mph top speed. 5 silicon gel batteries.
3 out of 5 are a year old. New charger. Excellent condition.
306lb. 40mi range @ 20mph. 8-10hrs full charge time.
It's a 2008. It'll Ride two up. Road legal.
I live 5.5 miles from where I work.
How much...?

$600 obo.

I might grab some cash and take a ride in the van tomorrow.
I decided not to inquire about this scooter.
I did the figures with tax, title, registration and electricity @ $.01/mi.
I would hope that the thing would get an average of 300MPGe over the next 7.2 years.
That's being optimistic and hoping gasoline averages $3 per gallon over that time period.
And hoping that electric rates don't skyrocket.

My Virago gets just over 80mpg and my normal bike commuting mileage is, at most, 2,700mi/yr.
It would take me about 7 years to break even on the purchase and electricity, even at these prices.
The scooter's manual recommends charging per each use, but I'd be charging three times a week.
That would, at least, insure that the charge would rarely drop below 50%.

The minimum life of the bank is rated at 400 full deep cycle charges.
The maximum life of the bank is rated at 1200 light shallow charges.
I'd be attempting to get 1000 "medium" charges out of the existing batteries.
The batteries are currently $169 each.
Now I realize that $845 for a complete bank replacement is relatively cheap
But who knows how much they'll cost in 7 years or if they'll even be available.

So, the bottom line is, at best, I'd have to buy an entire new bank in 7 years.
At that point in time, I'd have put almost 19000 miles on this little pup.

For basically the same money, I'll run the Virago with an "R" title for the next 7 years and beyond.
It's got double the HP, double the top end, almost 9x the practical range, and it looks and sounds great.
Besides, I've got the option of putting antique plates on it this year. :D

This is the link for the scooter. It does look like a great deal. I'm already good on cheap two wheeled transport:

I also hope this puts some additional perspective on the Sway.
The "beta" lithium Sway would cost me $8K + $480 in tax, plus prep and delivery.

I could haul the scooter home for $600 (or less?) + $36 (or less?) in tax.
There'd be no collision insurance because I wouldn't have $9K at risk.
The scooter has the same range as, but 10mph less top end than, the Sway.
These deals are out there if you're patient and you look for them.

Would I rather ride the Sway than the scooter? Hell yeah.
Would I buy one if I had a whole lot of excess disposable income? Maybe.
With my current finances, the scooter would still have a good deal of coolness factor.
After I painted over the stupid flames on the side, that is.

You aren't Sways target market. Narrow track tilting vehicles are going to be huge in the future as city commuters helping to alleviate some of the traffic congestion. They offer the stability of a triangular footprint with the ride and feel of a two wheeler. And in terms of ease of use, a feeling of road security and the ability to cover over mistakes that could be catastophic on a two wheeler. I could put my grandma on one. For some, It's not a matter of cheapest, but what you get for the money with that third wheel and the tilt factor. I don't have the balance to ride a two wheeler, but I could have a blast on the Sway. Obviously, I would prefer the Elio, but my hope is fading.

Tilting three wheelers like the Piaggio and the new Yamaha Tricity are taking off in the market place. I think the Sway looks like more fun with even more stability. It would make a heck of a pizza delivery vehicle. I guess it would be in the class of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV's).

I'm afraid I'd have to go with the comfy seat on the Piaggio mp3 500 ABS.
It's 40hp, 55mpg, 89mph, 577lbs, 3.2gal tank, 30.5" wide, and CVT with shaft drive @ $8,999.
I think it's got a lot going for it when compared to the totally overpriced Can-Am.
It's got a 492.7cc thumper and It tilts and looks hands down badd-ass.

But, of course, first I'd like to have my $6300 Elio.
Then I might consider that Piaggio beauty.

The sway was on shark tank this evening. He did not get a deal. Cool vehicle.

He did get a deal with Cuban.

Yep, got a deal with Cuban. At first they were all out on the deal, then the guy made a final plea and Cuban accepted. I think it's a cool idea, but not very practical to me. Maybe more in a compact city like NYC or Chicago, but in places that are very spread out, like the Dallas area, a 40 mile range just doesn't cut it.

Lol... when asked why Webster includes incorrect definitions (there really IS a difference between bring and take), they said, "It is our responsibility to report how words are used- not correct grammar"

"ir" when added to a word makes it the opposite. For instance, "irresponsible" means not responsible. So, irregardless would mean not regardless... or to put it differently, regardless means "despite" and irregardless would mean "because of".

Well, unregardless, the misuse of the word regardless is just part of the dumbing down of America. (You "take" away from your current location and can only "bring" to your current location but people can't seem to figure that out either)

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, irregardless is a word ;)

I've been considering the Elio but always thought it is MISSING ME by NOT letting it lean into the curves... I'd be an "ALL-IN" $1,000 depositor if, AN ONLY IF the Elio was to integrate WITH the Sway's turning so vehicle could literally lean into the turns like the failed "Lean Machine" that tried to launch a few years ago was claimed and advertised as able to do.

Have the Elio so at highway speeds, it would lean into the turns but at slower speeds, you could even make tight turns by turning the steering wheel without having to lean into the turn enough to make slow speed turns feel like the vehicle would tip over.
