I bet YOU'RE not 70 years old! I hit that milestone next month, and don't feel like I have forever to wait for my Elio. But, sigh, I'm pretty sure Xmas 2016 would be the very earliest they'll roll off a line.
68 and counting so not far behind you! I feel like 80! LOL I have been following tilting three wheeler concepts and the Elio for over 8 years and all have turned to vaporware. The no rush I mentioned meant I would like delivery yesterday, but not at the cost of rushing through the production process. I would like they get it right off the line on the first run. I would be more disappointed if the Elio didn't meet my expectations and followed up by recalls.

just curious .... have you considered making those reservations under the "Want In" program .... doing so would help the total number of reservations which we've been repeatedly told is important and protect the investment if the program goes down .... once things are firmed up, it would be easy to upgrade them
I'll probably do it on the 'All In'. I think that's better for EM and my gift level too. I'm moonlighting a little with a friend so this will be the source to support that, but it's a bit spotty from a schedule point of view, so I play it by ear. ( anyone need some C# or MSAccess work? )

You can see why my Atlantric gets no attention.

I just hope I'll still be in my 20s when they come out! ;)

That being said, I think the first half of 2017 is sounding more realistic. If the P5 will take 20 weeks to complete, and the P6-30 are funded to be built simultaneously to be test, the time it will take for Elio to receive all of their safety and transportation certifications (which they'll need before production) will take them well into 2017.

Keep in mind the only safety and transportation certifications beyond the Motorcycle requirement EM has to meet are their own.

I hear ya there!. But seriously this could go either way. This isn't a series process like it was before. PE has promised a surprising announcement in the next couple of weeks about funding. And really how much of the P5 and P6+ need to be built before production can begin implementation? PE and co, only need to feel the risk is low enough, the funding reliable enough, and they can begin.
I have my doubts about first half of 2016, but hitting anywhere between Q2 2016 through Q2 2017 would not surprise me.
Certainly we'll know a lot better once P6 is well on it's way.

Yeah agreed, I was going to ask about the need for safety certifications before production begins. It's not needed. Unless the govt says an autocycle must meet crash safety tests, before production begins. But as of right now, don't think crash test certifications are needed.

I remember from other threads, that the govt org that does the testing, will pull random vehicles from production lines to do the testing.
