I haven't seen this type of thread. Usually when someone sits in the Elio, they are just pleased. Rarely does someone who is a big enough fan of the Elio feel compelled to complain about something. Well, here is your chance. This is NOT a thread for people to say the following (though I can't stop you)

1. "I would have it already"
2. "Just build it"
3. "I hate Elio and just post here because I'm a bitter person."
4. "I'd change the Lord Elgin dash"... You didn't sit in an Elio with the dash so you can't change it... you can only change/add things that were actually there or should be there.

Okay, this should be fun. I'll start.

I would change the A Pillars. When I drive my truck, the view ahead is unobstructed. When I was sitting in the Elio, I felt as if I was looking through cupped hands or binoculars with limited vision to the sides. I know they are planning on thinner A pillars (the A pillars are the first ones you'd see when looking at the side of a vehicle and are the ones that run along the windshield. B pillars separate the front windows from the back windows. etc... Anyway, I'd thin up those A pillars. That's what I'd change.

It's already been stated the A pillars will be slimmer, I don't know by how much, but it has been addressed..

Yeah, I know. I even said as much in my original post here. But, after sitting in the Elio, it was the only thing I would probably be irritated by... Oh, I think the seatbelt was over the left shoulder which would just get in the way everyday I got my backpack out of the back seat.

Yea, Id like to know the exact dimensions of "slimmer" but I guess I can wait a few weeks...

1 - Make the fixed pedal/footrest on the left side adjustable.
2 - Tilt wheel (that will be standard in real model)
3 - Storage tray under driver seat
4 - Optional gun site
5 - Mood lighting for interior (the current Camaro's have it) so do a lot of other cars, it's LED strips in the side trim.
6 - Speakers in the headrest of the seats
7 - Gauge pods down the A-pillar
8 - Grab handles to help with entry / exit
9 - Marker lights / turn signals on backs of front fenders
10 - Cup holder on right side "door" area

Most of these sound like options to me. If the question is what should be changed in the base model, I'd list a few.

1. Move the cup holder as you suggest.
2. Agree about the dead-pedal (foot rest). But can live without it's being adjustable.
3. Include extra 12 v outlets, at least two in front and one in the trunk / rear seat area.
4. Make bluetooth connectivity standard so that any bluetooth accessory can communicate with the car. (Thus allowing us to get around Skyzmatic).
5. Make sure there's a mount for a "rear view mirror" and a handy electrical connection point there -- rear view camera time, non-Skyzmatic. (Also some such mirrors can act as screens for your Google Maps navigator, among other things). Actually, even though the Elio isn't a car, I think they should have a rear-view camera as part of the standard equipment, and be parallel to the legal requirement in 2016 for automobiles.
6. Agree about the grab handle. I'd pay for one of these if I had to ... getting older every day and foresee the need for it.
7. Agree with your about the marker lights / turn signals. I was figuring these would have to be after-market additions, but I'll settle for reflective tape on the trailing edge of the tire enclosures.
8. Sound proofing. I sure as heck hope it sounds NOTHING like the prototype!

Optional: expandable "map holders" (junk collectors) on each side. Storage space is at an absolute premium on this buggy.

If they moved the cup holder back, you'd keep hitting it with your elbow! Maybe a smaller, Mazda Miata type of shifter would be better... It doesn't need to be so tall. Then it wouldn't be so awkward getting to your drink.

I agree with the sound. I hope it doesn't drone on at highway speeds.
