For all that fuss in MD over getting a title there is no inspection unless you buy or sell a vehicle.

Just annual emissions but your car can be a complete piece of crap as long as its not polluting.

I just remembered the chastizing I got from the muffler shop in PA when I rolled in with MD plates.

This is very true, once your car is registered it takes something bad enough to be noticed and acted upon by a police officer. They can write you a Safety Equipment Repair Order to get something fixed. They even caved on the emissions, now it is a simple OBD2 test (although, that is pretty darn good as 99.9% of the people would never mess with the OBD2 system).

Has any member of this forum from Maryland asked Elio Motors about the process of titling and registering their Elio in Maryland/
I did this for my state. (See post 35 of this thread.)
It would be interesting to get their input.

Right; remember that the next time a cop pulls you over.
At least the MD law if friendlier than the ones in DC. They treat ya like ya just murdered someone in comparison. When I was stopped they said they could handcuff me and haul me off. I politely stated that since they have the badge and gun they could do anything they wanted except accuse me of being the only one exceeding the speed limit when I wasn't passing anyone or weaving in/out of traffic around noon in DC. They seemed to "want" me to get excited. I so disappointed them and got even by showing up to represent myself....only to be told the charges were dropped since the officer did not show up.

It's really not; if you go back to about the middle or first quarter of this thread, you'll see how the law enforcement part was included.
Just like every other thread in this forum, it drifts in untold directions because of a few words someone with include in their reply, or a distraction that comes to mind while they're typing. Those things, and a few hundred other reason cause thread drift.

Not to mention I wouldn't rant against law enforcement anyway. I have friends and relatives in that profession. They put up with a lot of BS and don't make near enough for the risks they take. But like in every barrel there's a few rotten ones.
