Thanks,

I saw that, but never heard about what the "carrying capacity" will be :)

I see in the Top Questions Answered 5-30-14 they committed themselves to 440 lbs. (2 - 6'1", 220 lbs. persons).

Using that and building in a 10% safety factor looks like maybe 480 lbs. carrying capacity max.

Looks like you're right in the ball park Gas !!

That takes care of me and the dog and our "stuff" :D

Well, looks like the wife stays home :p
Nah. She'll just buy her PINK Elio and tag along.

I believe GVWR was investigated in the early stages.

Is the frame wrapped in Christmas paper?

Does make a difference in registration in my state. Motorcycles are registered based on CC engine size, cars are by weight and/or presence of certain windows to determine commercial or passenger plates. My minivan is commercial because it only has two seats, no rear seat.

in what state ?? .... as a very general rule, per federal regs, it will be governed by the requirements of a motorcycle .... most states have created an "Autocycle" classification that will govern an Elio

This is NY, I do not know if they have created this autocycle class here, and if they have, how the registration will be broken down into classes. My Honda Shadow registration was an "under 750 cc" class, which is much cheaper than a "750 to 1200 cc" class, for both registration and insurance.

Where did you dig THAT up? Note the rear seating position -- horrible. No rear crash helmet either. But you have to love the easy-access doorways. Neat photo. Cargeeks-are-us.
Notice they put the big guy in the back where it would make the most different in swaying.
