Andwhat about the absence of shielding between pedals and engine compartment, and the nakedly exposed steering column? In conservative states, that's indecent exposure! Esp. with no belly pan, that's a horrible way to invite noise, water, and bugs to share your drive with you.

What shielding between the pedals and engine compartment?

G1 has explained it in other threads, the P5 is not the same as the vehicle that will be rolling off the production line; if you go over to the "Real P5" thread you can read for yourself what he reports about all of the issues that have been brought up.

So how did these metronomes "learn" to synchronize? Once they do, the table they're standing on really picks up harmonic vibration and rocks along with Mitch ...
The table they are sitting on is free to swing from side to side. That's how the force of the rocking metronomes is transmitted from one to the other: through the rocking motion of the table they are all sitting on.

I put that up because of a comment EKH made about having ducks lined up and quacking in unison
Just kind of a weak comparison to show it can me done.

Well, we'll see. Every single duck not only has to line up, but quack in unison for that to happen!

Where's the air filter? I think the intake manifold is the set of tubes on the rear of the engine (ahead of the firewall), but they curve down and disappear. Is that right? If so, where does the air filter housing go? It's a DIY maintenance item I haven't been able to locate.

The air filter location is not finalized yet. At the LA auto show the P5 intake manifold just ended at a little air filter tucked down in the engine bay however the production vehicle will have an air filter inside a housing as is standard in most cars. Most of the under hood details on the P5 are not final as these locations and specifications will be refined during the E-series development and testing process.

First, welcome to the party! then a quote from another post "G1 has explained it in other threads, the P5 is not the same as the vehicle that will be rolling off the production line; if you go over to the "Real P5" thread you can read for yourself what he reports about all of the issues that have been brought up."
The P5 is headed back to the shop for further refinment and details. It will be better at the Detroit show, but I bet not complete.

Thanks! I think I see it tucked under the coolant overflow tank in this pic.
