I am curious to hear your interpretation of the problems these things pose for a production vehicle.

Not necessarily problems.
It's unusual to see grease fittings any more on front suspension.
It's unusual not to see a grease fitting on a swing arm.
The way the brake line is run it could get snagged and ripped off.

Ok, just curious is all. I don't do much auto mechanic work, so I just wanted to understand the things you pointed out. I appreciate the observations.

G1 noted that the P5 IS still just a prototype. I was hoping for an exact replica of the production. What we seem to have is a quickly finished drivable prototype, where the body is likely the final form, but the finishing for things like the engine pluming and how some things (pluming and fasteners) are attached, are indicative of a temp placement. This may be good enough for LA and some milestone events like test drives.
It seems likely everything will be brought up to presentation finishing soon after the P5 leaves LA. The purpose that the P5 posed seems accomplished, in that EM should now have a full definition of everything they want for the E x-25 series.
The P5 is a huge and important asset for EM, I'm sure everything short of re-fabricating the body will be put into (or retro fit to) day1 production form.

There was a line to get a seat in it... ALL DAY!!!
I expecting that Translogic will get the first (or nearly first) honor of driving the P5.
You know almost nobody else lets the general public sit in their 'one-only' prototypes. (The E series will be the first multiple unit build.)

I'm wondering if EM will let them go onto the street, or just in a parking lot. I do sooo want to see a street test with action cams!

If you zoom in on this photo you'll see that "cover" is molded part of the main body. Sorry no removal unless you want to cut it out. However I do like how "The Bulge" channels any gas spill away from the hot exhaust. https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=...CFBA1!5417&parId=66C8BD49AECFBA1!5393&o=OneUp
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with it being a "molded part of the main body". If you look at an end shot of the bulge you can see that it does not fit well against the side panel. It has obviously been added onto the side panel, which would make it removable IMHO.

Yep! Discovered by AriLea on page #4 of this thread. It is indeed just a cover, and is removable.;)
