Misunderstood, not over-reacting. Realistically, for most people, their original interest and final investment decision will probably be pretty close. Circumstances change, but usually not dramatically within a few months. I'm fairly certain that some people expressed a low interest just to get on the list, so as to be able to make a final decision when the offering went live. I expect that others thought they were helping Elio by expressing a large interest, even though they knew that they would not be able to invest that much. And there were probably others that just wanted to game the system.

I agree with you, posting a non-binding expression of interest with no intention of investing seems malicious.

If it is any comfort to you, my expressed non-binding interest and my actual purchase amount are the same.

I agree that you should never feel obligated to purchase or invest if you don't feel comfortable or don't have the financial means. I can understand if Elio changed it's view dramatically. That would make for a valid reason to change interest. I'm just hoping that that people are serious about what they say they want to commit instead of gaming the system as you say.

Given that they were up to $40M in interest and are only seeking $25M, I think they'll do alright. My "worry" is that there will be so much interest it will erode my buy in down to $600. What a terrible problem for Paul to have!

Haha! I guess I could say I share a similar "worry". In fact I'm hoping for it. It would be nice to maintain the same shares that we all committed to buy.

Well that was fun! Was doing great until it asked me to check 1 of 2 boxes and sign. Wouldn't let me do anything. Online chat....took care of that. Just scroll to the bottom. lol

Glad that is over. It's done. Now we'll see what the future brings.

Just had to trot downstairs and tell the better half what I dun.....just so she could roll her eyes at me.

I got that same eye roll. My girlfirend pelted me with all sorts of questions. Even after I answered everything she still rolled her eyes at me. Guess when all works out, I'll be able to smile back at her, all while catching some wind in my Elio while my stocks pay for the gas and such.

Unfortunately for me, what I planned to invest and what I have available today are not the same numbers. At the time I expressed interest I based my numbers on what I had set aside in savings, plus I was employed in a much higher paying position. Fast forward to today and my employment has changed and my savings was tapped a few times for necessities.

Unfortunate I know, and I feel bad about not being able to put in my full commitment. I pooled money from other sources and came within a few thousand of my original interest.

Then I thought long and hard over the weekend and realized I can't tie that much up for an indefinite period of time, as well as leaving myself without any kind of cushion. Plus with Christmas around the corner the timing couldn't be worse.

So I changed my order to 1/4 of what it was originally coming in at 250 shares. I wish I could do more but it is what it is.

If things change between now and 12/2 (powerball/mega millions) I'll be happy to fund the whole 25 million.
One has to be sane about this. Sounds like you are.

I don't know if that means much. We may not be a very representative sample and we also don't know how many of the people who indicated interest actually followed through. I think trying to read the tea leaves is pointless right now. All we can do is wait and see what happens after 12/2
haven't kept up with the process, I'm in 100 shares, no action from my account to represent that.
Question=will we know the final outcome next week?
XI:VI turning in, colder than I expected for this time of year!

Our financial situation has changed a little. We're waiting to find out if the renters are leaving after raising their rent, although its still below market value. If they do leave, it will take a good chunk of change to bring the Place back up to rentable condition. After a discussion with the wife, we decided on 150 shares, That's a little more than 1/3 of our pledge. We figured with the $46,000,000 pledged about 10% would back out because of the minimum price of $600. We'll wait and see what happens after the 2nd. By then we'll know if the renters are staying.
