With all of the dashboard "pushback", someone at EM HAS to be considering an alternative.

The "pushback" has been going on for quite a while. I don't know for sure, but I suspect EM has already considered the alternatives and made their decision.... probably based on cost. Actually, I hope I'm wrong and you're right !

Maybe this is the answer to the problem of other drivers not seeing the Elio, especially after dark.

AAAArrrghhh never stretch your pinstriping unless you want to see it come back up in a few months.
Edge of the doors; never wrap it around the edge of the door, cut it even with the edge; this is another place where it will unwrap if you do curl it around.
They do say to "spray the car with a soap and water solution" which is correct, what they leave out is once the striping is on, use a squeegee to get the soapy water out from under the strip. They say to "rub it with your fingers" that's where you use the squeegee and a soft clean cloth.

That's what seems interesting to me about this choice of Elgin. What other vehicle on the planet uses this kind of instrument cluster? How can creating something brand new be as cost effective as using something that's already mass produced (like nearly every other part on this car!).

It just seems at odds with their philosophy based on my present limited knowledge of the situation.

Brief history or Myth if you will ..........
Paul Elio's father had a Lord Elgin wrist watch.
He remembers seeing it on his fathers wrist when he was a boy and it is now a family heirloom.
He did the Lord Elgin style windows in loving memory of his father.
When you get into emotional issues like that, don't look for logic.
