Sorry that I can't help with the reloading.
One of the very reasons that I thought we'd seen the last of the .35 Remington cartridge...
Was that Marlin pulled the .35 Remington option of the 336 off of their website for a while.
It's good to know that they're confident that it has a future.
Thanks for the help.
I found out that Midway USA has got them for $27.99 a box.
I got $5 total shipping on all five boxes with Cabela's though.

I was trying to find Larson's two deer talking, one with the bulls eye on his chest the other saying "bummer of a birthmark"
Well, X:IV turning in after what would be considered a poorly played regular season game, this one wasn't close to super!
Did I mention the commercials were the pits. Maybe next year the Hawks will get it right. Really good football ??( the U S. only country on the planet calls it soccer) Premier League is a real man's game -go Manchester City.
Here ya go.

Save your empty brass. They can be reloaded for 1/3 the cost of new rounds and you can use heavier or lighter bullets than you can get in factory loads. If you buy a set of dies and a shell holder anyone who reloads rifle ammo can reload your .35 Remington cases.

Well... I got my gun back.
The price on the tag was $175 more than they gave me when I traded it in.
They must want my future business, because they knocked a hundred off of that.

I put a receiver rail and a 1-4x50 on it as soon as I got home.
I sent for low rings for a better cheek weld, but it sure looks good...
Out of of the various used guns in .35 Remington that were there last fall...
Mine was the only one left. Now there are a whole lot of used 30-30s in their place.

I guess you can really tell that someone started making the ammo again. Go figr'.

After not seeing my old gun for a while, I was surprised by how worn it actually is.
The wood is still good other than a very small chunk stylishly missing next to the tang...
And other than it being rather dark due to extensive use... sweat, weather, oil and all..
But the metal (though still holding the last bluing I did) is a little pitted here and there.
All that plus the inflated price they had on the tag probably kept it there for me.

I think the thing is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.
All in all, it feels damn good in my hand again.
The old marlin lever guns are built like tanks.
The action on this one is still like silk, and...
As the rifleman's creed goes...

"There are many like it, but this one is mine."

happy to hear that it worked out in your favor .... as this is being typed we have a Browning BLR 308 that was built in 1970 with a gunsmith north of Houston .... this rifle has been and will continue to be a shooter, not a wall hanger .... its stock is far from pristine, its bluing shows some wear .... we are having its OEM recoil replaced and a Mercury Recoil Suppressor installed .... we will be spending more money on it than logic would deem wise but in this case logic isn't relevant ....

They're both stunning. Words cannot express...

You have my envy and compliments Seth.

There's a good read here:

You seem to be very familiar with Mosin Nagants. I have one, but don't know much about them. From what I understand, they started producing them in 1892. Mine was made in 1894, so an early, made in Russia example. It still shoots, and holds very tight, accurate patterns. Anything else I should know about it? Maybe an estimate on the value?:D

WOW! I've always wanted a pre-1900's Mosin. It's certainly more valuable than what are commonly available (wartime models, usually 1939-1944) but you'd need a more qualified person to give you a hard dollar value. I know certain factories of origin are more desireable than others (Tula seems to be the favorite for build quality).

I would check out 7.62x54r.net for more specific information.

Thanks Sethodine. I wish I could show the rifling in the barrel. It looks like someone ran a screw down it. Well, not really, but MUCH tighter twists than a modern rifle.:)
