Hi, I am G.A., I am new to this forum. My family is ready to be all in but we have a few questions. 1st the web site is vague about will be need a motocycle license in tx or not. I am getting conflicting information. My mother is fragil, and I am not prepared to put her on a motorcycle for that class to get her license. Does anyone know for sure what is going to happen here with the license. I am thinking of going up to Dallas in Sept. and talking to them at the show.

You should not need a motorcycle license in Texas. Here's information from a post on Facebook where a future owner asked Texas DPS:

"Our customer service representative Ms. Hodge asked our office for a response to your question below regarding the elio, 3 wheel vehicle manufactured in Louisiana.

After looking at our Transportation Code, the short version answer to your question, yes, you will be able to drive this vehicle with your existing Texas driver license. You will not be required to have a motorcycle endorsement to operate this “lesser type of vehicle” defined in Trans. Code Section 521.085. This is the statute that lists this vehicle as an exception to Trans. Code Section 521.002 (6-a) definition of a motorcycle for drivers license requirements. Trans. Code Section 661.001 defines a motorcycle for protective headgear requirements and is says that a helmet is NOT required because it is equipped with a cab or occupant compartment, seat and seat belt and is designed to contain the operator in the cab or occupant compartment.
The definition of a motorcycle for registration purposes is defined in Trans. Code Section 502.001 #(12). This vehicle meets the requirement to be registered as a motorcycle under Texas law.

Because of the 521.085 exception to driver license law, you do NOT have to have a motorcycle endorsement for this particular vehicle.

I hope this has answered your questions regarding the Elio motor vehicle.

, then upgraded July 18th to $1000.
Okay so whar's mah dang number at?
Congratulations on your upgrade. I'm sure you are aware that the reservations numbers are released in batches and the next release is anticipated around the Labor Day weekend. It is really reassuring when you get it.

All in and waiting. Got a reply to my emails from Mr. Elio himself and also from the VP concerning some questions I had on customer service and quality control on the vehicle. According to Mr. Elio initially they had a telephone line but were so overwhelmed by calls they had to shut it down due to the fact they did not have enough trained personnel to handle the calls. I am in the DFW area and would like to start a club, when we get our vehicle, if anyone else is interested.
I'm in Chandler and would like to know any details about a club.

I live in Plano, am 65 years old and would love to see a club for the North Texas area. I was a member of TRI, which was a three wheel motorcycle club, but has since been disbanded! It was a fun experience, with a monthly meeting and weekly rides all through North and East Texas. We had about 30 members and elected officials which organized the rides and ran the club. I was in charge of the web site and monthly newsletter. I would like to see if there is a three wheel club now or if not, who would like to form an Elio Club that follows those same ideas! Post here if you have any interest or other thoughts and let's get the ball rolling if enough interest is shown.
