You may be right but I have never heard a tire guy utter the words "wheel assembly."
LOL, remember that disconnect between Engineering and Goals(Desires)? That's the other major rift in arguments(errr, discussions) that I find interesting, jargon versus dialect, ie. having the right language and details that your audience understands. Or also I could say, general versus specific nomenclature. Sometimes a general description is close enough, and sometimes the technical detail is required to even have a clue.
Another language diversity I like, Concept versus Actual. It all keeps us busy doesn't it?

I took my Sentra in for safety and emissions yesterday. In Utah that is typically done at a tire store. So I talked to my tire guy about wheels.
Technically, I was wrong in my above posts, but let me explain. I learned this stuff back in the 50s, before the proliferation of spoked wheels, so it's just that I am 50 years behind the times. I said that I have always called them rims. He said you can call them rims but now rims usually refers to solid steel wheels.
I apologize for my confusion.

I wonder the availability of an elio tire from a shop that sells coopers,(other than pep boys) I sure hope they are in stock at most tire shops. I would hate to be on a road trip, get a flat and have to be waiting a couple extra days on shipping?
(I pre apologize if this has been discussed I just don't want to go back 27 pages on this thread)
