Enlisted in AF in Jan 57--4 yrs in maintenance of B-52s at Walker AFB. Changed AFSC in early 62 to Titan ICBMs. Was on a combat instructor crew at Denver until Jan 65. Married my wife at Roswell in Oct 3 59 so we will celebrate a 55 wedding aniversary !!!!! I don't know if she will like the Elio like I will but I think so//Time will tell.

Jim H. Thank you on the congrats. While its true I spent 8 years in the Air Force, I didn't have to go into a combat situation like you and others. I would like to thank you very much for your many years of sacrifice for me and all the people in America. In my experience with the missiles I thank God I didn't have to do the job I was taught to do.

I have noticed many members who have discussed their service in various threads and wanted to start a thread about this. I know we have members across generations so I thought it would be interesting to hear a little about members service.
#9335, Twenty years Army enlisted, retired and loving life. The road is my friend and the Elio will be Freedom Mover!

Enlisted in the Army at age 17 and and reached the rank of sergeant, MOS 11B40 (infantry). Was on the Staff Seargent promotion list when I received a direct commission to 2LT Infantry. Retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Served at Ft Ord, CA; Ft Benning, GA; Oakland Army Base, CA; Ft Eustis, VA; Ft Jackson, SC; Presidio of San Francisco; RAF Mildenhall, UK; Ft Bragg, NC; Berlin Brigade, Berlin, Germany (before the wall came down); Southern Europen Task Force, Vicenza, Italy; Vietnam (1st Air Cav) with a second tour in Vietnam as an advisor to the 23rd Vietnamese Infantry Division. Trained as an infantry small unit commander, operations officer, Military Assistance Training Officer, Foreign Area Officer (Latin American). Too many schools to list. When I retired I was the Chief of Education and Training for all Army forces in Southern Europe and the Sinai peninsula? Received a Silver Star, Bronze Star for valor, and an individual award of the Vietnamese Cross of Galantry. My most prized award is my Combat Infantryman's Badge. Retired after 27 years of service.
