Greetings from Dublin, Ohio. (Home of the Memorial Golf Tournament and the headquarters of Wendy's, neither of which I am associated with.) I am Bill the Engineer, reservation holder # 100013068. I am also an engineering supervisor for a major transit bus manufacturer, so I know my way around a vehicle or two. The Elio we reserved is actually for my son to drive once we receive it. (Soon, I hope!) BTW, he is 6'-3" and 300 lbs. It should be interesting to see him get in and out of it!

I have three and two halves other vehicles in the garages and driveway right now:

1998 Toyota Corolla (Getting old and tired, named "The Sardine Can")

2004 Toyota Prius (Green, thus the name "Gladys")

2010 Toyota Prius (Red, thus the name "Ruby")

1967 Firebird Convertible (Totally disassembled and spread between two garages, thus the two halves comment.) This car is undergoing what I call an Eco-Mod, and will be a full hybrid once I am finished. It is a good challenge for me. My late dad was a vocational auto shop teacher, and I am a machine design engineer with 5 patents, so it is giving me something interesting to work on in the garage. :-)

I'll post more soon!

Bill the Engineer

welcome, will love reading your posts as a tech observer. There are MANY out there/in here? who too are very knowledgeable and I'm sure you'll be pleased to "kick" the tires with them. BTW only 1k all in reservation numbers and in addition, and this is what puts it over the top- free tee shirt, and sticker!! (LOL)

Hi and welcome from Oregon, Bill. If you made a $1,000 "all in" reservation since 9/10/14, you should get your Production or Spot In Line number tomorrow. If you made a $1K "all in" reservation before 9/10/14 you should have received a 4 or 5 digit number by email telling you about it. The release is usually fairly late in the day but if you don't get it, check your spam box to make sure it didn't get sent there. The number you have mentioned is essentially your "receipt" reservation number.

Your son should not have much of a problem getting into and out of the Elio. There are videos by Elio Motors tour people discussing this issue with potential future owners. One of the gentleman who has a reservation is 7'4" and many more are well over 6'. I hope you enjoy this exciting journey to Elio production and ownership. :) Z

Engineer, Zelio is correct when she says you should have received an email with your Registration Number--several months ago. What you have listed for a Registration Number is actually your Order Number, and that number suggests that you will have a Registration Number considerably lower than 5,000. Check your spam folder.

Bill, welcome to the forum and I know you must be excited about hopefully getting your production number tomorrow. The forum is the best repository of information on the development and production of the Elio and I hope you have time to review the threads that most appeal to you. We are a diverse group and you add another dimension to the groups expertise. We look forward to your comments, opinions, and ideas. Welcome.

Hi Bill,

From Sandusky and a fellow Buckeye. I have been in this vehicle three times. Have seen men larger than your son sit in the vehicle and be comfortable. I get down to Columbus a few times per month for business. Contact me through a personal conversation on this website and we can sit down and talk about the Elio. Look forward to meeting you.
