Good, and I suspect very accurate, read on what's going on with the price of oil. Long, but worth a read. I do wonder what impact these world financial shenenigans might have on Elio...

A really good read BR. Thanks for posting. "Oh what a tangled web we weave...when first we practice to deceive." As pointed out in the article Oil is a global economy. We the people are playing checkers while the world is playing chess. We think in the short term while the world thinks in the long term. Fortunes are made and lost as these games are being played. I hope Bobby Fischer is smarter than Garry Kasparov.

Think the Elio is a bargain regardless of Gas prices. If gas prices are low the Elio still saves money (although on a smaller scale). As the article points out about oil prices, "This too shall pass".

The price of gas has simply become one of those things I accept as being what it is and there is nothing I can do about it unless I stop driving. Sorry, I will stop drive when I am no longer physically or mentally able to. It simply is something I enjoy too much to give up. Fortunately my son introduced me to the Elio so I can again enjoy driving on little side trips now and then without worrying about running out of money. I do love my Elio and can't wait to drive it. :) Z

Does that Z stand for Zen? ;-)

It occurs to me that we have lost our way. Just because there is a lot of something doesn't mean we should not use it sparingly. Like being taught to take what you want but eat what you take, virtues such as conservation, once imbued with moral imperative, are now thought of too frequently as a lifestyle option, to be taken or left depending on our own personal 'bling' factor. Gas is a good example. Sure, there is a lot of it, but I feel slightly guilty every time I pump it. It isn't about money, but rather the fact that it is a finite resource whose use/overuse has obvious and devastating consequences.

I don't live in a yert and I didn't make the world, but I do have to make my choices. I'd buy an Elio if gas was free because for me it is the right thing to do. By this I do not mean to criticize others - everyone is complex.
