Thanks. This one will work a while longer for me. Currently counting down the time till I turn the wood stove back down after filling. I like my smart phone, but am not tied to it 24-7 like some I know. I actually forget it at home sometimes and manage to survive every time.

LOL. I think that's the same watch I take when I run!

You know, I've followed electronic ink back when Millennium Plastics pioneered it... (that stock did me no good) and bought the first generation Kindle... I love those things... Everyone in my family has 2 - one tablet for play and an electronic ink version for reading as that eInk is SO much better for reading. I like the new color eInk and have wondered why we haven't seen a color version of the Kindle (not the tablets with the LED, but a real eInk color screen).
I don't understand why an established company has to use kickstarter. I thought that was supposed to be to help get ideas off the ground. Maybe I just don't understand it but what keeps Ford from doing a kickstarter campaign for the next Mustang for instance?
Instsgogo or something is what happened. That's when Kickstarter - to maintain market share - also became a preorder system instead of a company launching system.

I would say in Pebble's case it actually does make sense for them to go back to Kickstarter as that is where they began. Pebble also needs all the support they can get from the Kickstarter community as they have to grab as much attention as possible right now in the weeks before the Apple Watch release.

In my opinion Pebble has actually timed this release quite well as they have jumped in a few weeks before Apple publicly unveils their watch and the Kickstarter campaign will be over before the Apple Watch is expected to hit retail channels in April. Pebble will also be a month or so clear of the Apple Watch release when customers actually begin receiving their new Pebble Time watches in May thus allowing Pebble to garner another round of media coverage without having to directly compete against Apple for this coverage.

True. Their timing seems to be pretty good. Using kickstarter not as a business maker but as a preorder site is something I didn't realize kickstarter did.

If those android watches would worth with both android and ios phones I would have bought the moto 360 long since, as it is I can't ever consider them.

With the upcoming LG LTE watch you would not need a phone it is one. Getting closer to DickTracy's watch everyday.
