So GM was in big trouble. We had to bail them out big time. The plant was shut down full of all this equipment worth many millions of dollars.
Why then was it not sold off right away, why if it is so valuable did it just sit there all this time. It would have been easy money for them to sell it off while it was still fresh.
Not hold my breath for any major cash flow from it.

I have no direct info but having seen other bankruptcy proceedings that tie things up for months, if not years .... during most of the process the doors are locked and nothing goes in or out until the courts say so .... once it cleared that hurdle the county taking over probably created a whole different set of delays .... just guessing

What are you trying to accomplish? Why on earth would inventory be lost revenue, by what logic?

As the screenshot below shows: automationrecovery1 has sold nearly 400 items on behalf of Elio Motors on this venue so far. This number does not include certain sales, such as multi-quantity listings. I wouldn't go by the "goofbid" numbers either, as the amount of items available for sale isn't even right: as of this afternoon, 6,998 listings are up for sale.

Just for grins: making up numbers to prove that something must be going wrong, serves no valid purpose unless trolling is the objective here...

Thanks for the screenshot. I must have missed it before, but now understand where you got your numbers. Obviously, you either did not go to the link I posted, or didn't let the search engine compile the information. It takes about 10 minutes or so, you just need to let it run in the background. I agree that the search engine may not be perfectly accurate. When I ran a new search, it only found 374 sold items, and came up with 19,375 not sold. Logic would indicate that the # & $ of Not Sold / Lost Revenue Items must be based on expired listings rather than current open sales.

Calling me a troll and accusing me of making up numbers is unfounded. I've tried to be pretty clear when presenting facts, assumptions or conclusions, and you are out of line with that comment. With the average sale running just over $130, it looks like $50k is pretty much correct for total sales so far.

Smitty901, IIRC the plant was closed while demand and production were down. Obviously a time passed before Elio acquired the equipment. The logical reason for Elio to hold on to the equipment before offering up for sale would be anticipation of getting a better return as demand increased. Since there has been no further word on equipment sales from the marketing department, it seems reasonable to conclude that there is nothing impressive to report. If they had collected $50-$70M, you'd think they would have mentioned something about it.

You are welcome. The numbers third party websites get from eBay when it comes to sales numbers, are spotty at best. I wouldn't put to much stock in them. The listings do not expire, they are buy it now and will stay up until Elio Motors decides to take them down. The information about items not sold does not mean much and the number of 19,75 must be way off to begin with. That is likely counting every item for every month that it didn't sell. It is normal that specialty items take a long time before they find a buyer. That the website reports inventory as lost revenue is not making them look very useful by the way.

I didn't say you are a troll, I said in essence that making up assumptions, especially based on wrong numbers, could only be useful for a troll. Otherwise the numbers don't mean much unless one understands the bigger picture, for which we don't have enough info.

Speculating on why the items were put up for sale at a certain time isn't helpful. Consider that Elio Motors might not have had a clear picture as to which items of equipment are needed for production before engineering was completed to a certain degree.

My question is, why doesn't Mr. Leno fund this whole thing?
You kinda think he could if he wanted to, right?

He may not have the 240 million laying around in cash . However he could throw down a bit then make some calls It would not take long to find 240 million.

Curious?
Here's 7,005 items that I suspect are our boy's used toys.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the address of every item I looked at was Shreveport.
Was so easy to find, I was shocked.

I looked at the ebay thing and all I could get out of it was nothing there. AutomationRecovery1 has an ebay store but there seems to be nothing in it.
