    Enthusiastic But... Fine Print

I suspect many have not read the fine print in said ""All- In"" contracts. I am $100 non refundable All In myself. I do have a question on proto-types. End of 2013, there was a statement that some 20 P-4 types were planned for a build in MI., in order to have more public exposure in their around...

    E85, Flex Fuel Engine?

NO, NO, NO---ethanol is garbage in a combustion engine. Here in the South , it has ruined more both small and large engines and thinking folks want no part of it!!!

Commission Orientated Sales & Marketing =

You have ignored the fact that there must be a service facility (they will break down) and that in conjunction with a ""store"" is part of what it takes to market any substantial vehicle today!

    Why Show Rooms?

You must be part of the Yuppie/millennium generation where everything you do is out there in the "clouds". Us old folks have sense enough to kick the tires, test drive, raise the hood, etc., so there are no surprises. Besides, am not interested in spending $7000 on an uninspected vehicle! RB

    Orange Vs Silver

The Wildcat in service was not silver but Navy measure blue!

    Mirrors And Other "cheap" Stuff

We don"t need no stinking electric mirrows, for goodness sake ---roll down the window (which is right by your arms,) exert yourself enough to reach out and manually adjust your mirrow!! (cost remember, that must stay down or this adventure will be another "Tucker" and no one wants that!!!)

Hesitations About Using The Elio As My Only Car???

It is what it is, folks. Dated many a time on a motorcycle (tandem seating and never had a problem in any area of "human relations" !) While it will not be my only mode of transportation, it will be a fun unit to drive and at 83 if the wife of 55years will not ride in the back seat, she can stay...

    Old Guys Rule

Geeezzzzzeee---all in their 30"s and 40''s----I must be nuts at 83 having signed up for an Elio, but am young at heart. It will be Gramp"s last toy so lets get on with it (and do not take too long!) RB

    Old Guys Rule

Graig---do not sell these Yankees any of our precious swamp land. If they are smart they will give up that cold inhospitable north and move to warm sunny Florida on their own! Great ELIO driving country ,too!!

How Long Do I Have To Wait After Production Begins?

Note ELIO blog this week about the engine where they hope for 25k to 50k reservations (that plus the 10k they have is your 60 k plus estimate)Lets all hope this comes together as the waiting is tough! RB

Shreveport Plant Operations And Personnel Questions

Just knowing that there is some activity at the old GM plant other than the night watchman, would be reassuring!

Factory Pickup, Retail Store Pickup, Or Delivery

Look at the bright side ,at the very least, you will have your ELIO "broken in" by the time you get it home!

    New Direction

You are right on, dteke,---so far we have a beautiful body on a metal frame powered by a GEO METRO engine and drive train.(kit car anybody?) So we are now less than a year away from an assembly line operation with an incomplete lightly tested prototype. It is nearing time for the whole...

Has Any Progress Been Made With The Plant?

Market study? Ten thousand reservations appears to be a pretty good start. I guess they are shooting for a much larger ELIO market than originally anticipated?

Shreveport Plant Operations And Personnel Questions

Excellent idea---we do need a local source for what is actually going on at the old GM plant. We also need some third party financial data on ELIO operations in Shreveport since those folks are close to local news stories and have a vested jobs interest! It is almost March 2014 so some visible...

$1000. Is A Lot Of Money To Me.

When the IAV engine and drive train is installed into the prototype and some "as built" numbers on MPG , etc are available, then I will upgrade to the $1000 all in level. Then we will have seen (maybe not driven) a complete ELIO and have a better handle on what we are buying!

Options And Upgrades, Cruise Control, Etc...

Good observations , DD, but am still looking forward to the IAV engine and drive train as an installed unit in the ELIO so real running tests can be conducted. Then will up-grade ! RB

Factory Pickup, Retail Store Pickup, Or Delivery

Makes sense to me . It costs to deliver a vehicle cross country. Had a military vehicle recreated in New Mexico and cost $1500 to have it shipped to Florida, so this is a viable part of total cost to put The ELIO in your hands, unless you go to the factory and even then this equalized delivery...

    Old Guys Rule

No mid life crisis for me at 83----just waiting (hopefully not too long ) for my ELIO. While am 100 all in , will upgrade when I see the IAV engine and drive line installed in the test mule so actual MPG and handeling characteristics can be studied. Ten thousand reservations sounds like a pretty...

Weight Limits And Center Of Gravity?

During the war years I drove a Cushman motor scooter from Atlanta Georgia to Columbus Ga (150 miles +/- of course I was 18 years old then) and if one can survive that , the ELIO should be a Cadallac in comparison!
