...on how long it will be before somebody decides to turn this economy car into a toy and install a Hayabusa motor in one of these Elios'. Didn't take too long for the Smart Car.

After thinking about it, this idea may not go over to well seeing as the Elio is front wheel drive.

There are several guys talking about this in the Elio Motors Owners Association on FB... plus there are a couple of companies that I heard of that will be making a turbo kit for the IAV engine ... lots of room in the engine compartment since it is a big crumple zone

OOOORRRRR, you could put a big battery in the back seat area and put a huge electric motor on the rear wheel. Use the 55hp generator up front........Hybrid!

That's a fantastic saying, never heard that one before!

Maybe we could have a "Future Mod Ideas" forum or something?

Reliability, economy, and ease of maintenance are top needs in this vehicle. Forget the high speed and 0 to 60 in 3 nano seconds. If you want that , go buy a Cobra Mustang!!

At base price of $6800 and a big interest with the aftermarket people ... I am sure people will do all kinds of modifications to their Elio's out there that will appeal to everyone's fantasies of a sweet little vehicle from mild to wild
