3) Have the gas tank cap on the drivers side. :) I think of Elio every time I see someone having to disrupt the gas station flow. LOL

For years, I had a car that filled up on the passenger side. I still haven't adapted to the driver-side cap of my current vehicle :( I'll either be happy with the Elio configuration, or frustrated because I've grown accustomed to a driver-side cap :S

the good news is, with 80+ mpg, you won't have to fill up all that often .. :D

Gee, another of life's major difficulties to overcome . Do your best, meditation is a great alternative to medication.
Why just yesterday I met a guy who was able to overcome this syndrome- soon to be classified as a behavioral disorder, to then be served by outpatient therapists covered by health plans

Well, they certainly can't expect all of us to pick them up at the factory (although I'd certainly like to). There has to be some sort of regional pickup option.
Not if you live in Ohio.Ohio is scheduled for 3 stores, bit barring a change in the law (unlikely), there will be 0 stores.

Elio Motors is trying to grab as much of the market share as they can as fast as they can. They should indeed do this. If this vehicle is as popular as it appears to be, other car companies will make their own. Why pay credits to Elio Motors when they can make their own vehicles, keep the credit money, and make profit from selling the vehicle. It is a simple design and with the deep pockets of the car companies, they can have one designed in a year. I believe they already have teams examining the possibility already. They would be poor managers to not already be examining the possibility. They would have two advantages the elio does not.
1) Service centers covering the whole nation. There are large areas not covered by Pep Boys. These service centers are called dealers. You can find a Ford, Chevy, Toyota, or Honda dealer anywhere. They probably instill more confidence in people than Pep Boys too.
2) They will not have an Elgin dash making it more visually attractive on the inside to most people.

I believe this is the point at which Elio Motors will have an IPO. They will want to use the money to significantly expand. They will already be a proven company that has a proven product and big sales. They will be fighting to stay on top.
A merger or partnership is also a possibility, when it comes to keeping on top, if from a good start.

Unfortunately, you get what you elect, not necessarily what you need or deserve.
Maybe you could do an old style "WKRP Turkey Drop" on the people who insist on keeping those old franchise laws.

Maybe they should have done it like the 60's era GM cars; put it behind the license plate; dead center in the rear.

On another note:
The SEC filing paper described the Frame-and-Panel construction of the Elio, and how this would make for easier and cheaper repairs (namely, by using a "replace" rather than "repair" philosophy). This got me thinking, this means that entire body swap kits would be really easy to make for the aftermarket! Sure, it'll do some damage to the aerodynamics and reduce your MPG...but still!
