With a projected curb weight of 1250 pounds, most of which is up front with the engine, what would the rear wheel be carrying? Just curious how long before we see video of someone picking up the rear end of the elio and moving it around on the front wheel pivot point.

If I see someone picking up the rear end of an Elio, I'm going to run up to congratulate him/her on getting an Elio early. When that person drops the vehicle to shake my hand and it lands on his/her foot, I will reach into their pocket, grab the keys, and drive off with my new Elio to live happily ever after.

What's the difference in weight between those two materials?

As explained to me, the new material will have strands of fiberglass in it, but it won't be the weaved fiberglass you would normally see.

On larger vehicles, the battery can be located in the rear to help balance the weight distribution. With the Elio, the battery will weigh so little, it probably will not be worth it.

Some of us will want a battery larger than a motorcycle battery. I hope they leave room for us to fit a larger battery in.

Making the room for a bigger battery will be tough. And the amount of copper cable to route it somewhere in the back woul be significant added cost. So we may just have to live with the toy battery they have selected. But i bet Elon Musk knows where to buy a LiOn battery to fit under the seat or beside the rear wheel
