The Drive Train Seems Flimsy

The Elio I am seeing on line seems to have a less-than robust connection between the transmission and the wheels. It looks flimsy to me. I am no automotive expert but the CV joints on a front wheel driven car are much more robust. It looks as though one well placed rock or piece of road wood could break the wheel off. Am I wrong? I hope I am. Can someone who has seen an Elio in person describe that part of the drive train to me please?

I always think front end parts look flimsy, here's one from a 600hp dragster, yea I know it's not FWD but it looks very breakable to me.
Now if you want a more robust looking front wheel drive setup:

I hope this is a legit thread... There seem to be a number of threads coming up from supposed long-time supporters who have something negative to say in their first and only post.

I apologize to the OP if I am wrong.

There's nothing flimsy-looking about the Elio drivetrain. It looks like a lot of small front-drive car setups. Things just tend to look more robust when they're covered in bodywork. For instance, rear bumpers look like part of the body, when (in most modern cars) they are just flimsy plastic shields with lots of empty space behind them. Still, modern cars tend to outperform older cars in collisions.

This thread looks kinda flimsy...
We'll just have to wait and see how he follows up and does a 2nd and 3rd post.
But I agree, this is the third person we have had in the last 2 weeks that signed up recently, does a single post about a part in question (last one was the transmission) and not heard from again.
Compared to the past, not to bad.

The half-shafts and CV joints in the 2002 Ford Focus in my driveway are very similarly sized and have to handle twice the torque produced by the Elio.

It will be a mini-van in a supermarket parking lot that removes a wheel, not a rock.
