Beside the mortality problem, I was wondering, mainly about the early spots in line
1. people who simply don't want an Elio any more and forfeit their deposit.
2. people who delay their purchase.
3. people who sell their spot.
4. people who EM lost track of due to the person changing their contact info and did not update EM.
5. ? any other ideas?

I've been on this ride since 12/21/2013......
I can live (hopefully) with the 2018 production date BUT if it moves again to 2019 I'm done and dumping all my stock!
Getting too old to hang around waiting!
How old is to old to wait? I will not walk away! Just burn my ass, put my ashes in an urn, take me for a ride in my Elio, and dump me in the desert! :car:

I think that it will be 2018 or nothing. Too much debt and will lose Shreveport if they have another delay. IMO

I am here for the duration. There has never been an affordable vehicle like the Elio. Every refinement should make the production vehicle even better. I started saving for the Elio when I went All-in. If it takes another year I will not need any financing. Good things come to those that wait.

I wonder if Paul would entertain being bought out by a major car manufacturer, if Elio Motors was kept as a separate division and that Paul was in kept charge of? Soon, unless Trump forces a change, the average fuel consumption of cars sold must equal 54 mpg. Having Elio under their name might help, if the Elio was considered to be a car in this regard. I went all in with the minimal amount of $100 as I do not want one of the first vehicles off the line. It's probable there will be some issues. Minor I hope. If Elio goes under I would lose the $100 but I also bought about $500 worth of stock over the last several months. Again, if Elio goes under I lose that too, but at least that can be written off my taxes as a loss. The fact that Elio never seems to have much cash doesn't bother me either. I figure his rich backers are putting money into specific needs, as required. They are not giving Paul free access to spend however he wants. He has to negotiate most major purchases with his backers. We do not have access to this information so progress is hard to determine.

I would like to see more information on what some of the optional equipment consists of. Like Infinite Sky's display. Does it only come in orange? Color? Is it a replacement for the dash or a add on? Things like that.

My plans are to keep my hopes up that the Elio will be made.

I agree, I have 10K stuck in a safe, and try my best to forget it's there.
As far as I can is another year, then there is no telling what happens.
I can use the money in many other ways, but don't want to. I want to forget it's there, but I also want my last new car.
Another year is about as long as I can afford to sit on that, and forget about it; after that year, it's a free for all.
The news about the company gets filed and forgotten. After that ..... well that's about as long as I can go.

I'm 64, "all in" for the max so there ain't gonna be no "selling off my stock", SIL somewhere around 2300+/-. I've been a stalwart for the duration but the SEC report doesn't look good and the deal with Shreveport may fall apart due to no tax revenue until Elios roll off the line. Pruitt's inevitable trashing of CAFE standards will evaporate a major revenue stream of selling CAFE credits to the Big 3. Elio's demise will be more a result of the election results than anything else. I'm bummed out.
