it was inevitable .... a few minutes ago I saw an ad for a law firm requesting that anyone who has recently purchased a vehicle with a German diesel engine to contact them immediately .... the only ones who will come out financially ahead in all this is the lawyers

and this is a new concept!!??
they usually get 1/3,--less than my ex got, and her lawyer did o.k.too

good plan except-
"let the people that truly deserve it" --how will this be measured? I think, there will no p.c. responses- it's a universal observation about lawyers, I think we now opened the door just wide enough however, for the lawyer jokes to flood the thread-

And failing that lets do something to them that they will find more painful, as it were, a fate worse than death .........

Just read an article that stated the "fix" for the VWs will cost some power, they dyno'd a Jetta Diesel before and after and it lost 15 hp, and worst 32 ft lb of torque.. I thought it would be worse, but if I lost that much on my Fiat it would be undriveable.

You may not remember this, but going back to the mid 60s, the more they worked to reduce emissions, the worse the mileage became.
No such thing as free lunch.
