Maybe someone can explain this to me, I'm not too smart.

In the article above it seems to say that Elio needs $25 million to build 25 prototypes. That comes out to a million a car. If an Elio is mainly built from existing parts, and they already have made the other parts for the first prototypes, they should have the parts molds or whatevers needed to make the remaining cars. Plus they have the experience in how to put them together. So why so expensive to produce 25 more little Elios? :confused2:

That article was posted a year ago...

Tooling was a big cost. Everyone's time is worth something (I can't image most people work for free).

masterherald.com is confusing at best as a news source. There is some speculation that it is an automated news site with no human intervention.
I'm not aware of an article from there, especially dealing with Elio that does not have major problems. I would search within this site for better information and often you will already find a discussion on the article in question.

In general, I ignore masterherald articles.

That was talking about the A+ Stock sale that was done through the Startup Program.
They did end up raising $17million which was enough for the E-Series program of 23 vehicles.
The MasterHerald is not always the most dependable or accurate source of EM news; kind of like Jalopnik (except for the last review they did).
