I remember at the beginning the 1000 member mark and 2000 member mark flew by in a matter of months. It has taken us years to reach the 4000 member mark. Doubt their are more than 1000 active members at this time. You have got 60,000 depositors for the Elio and only 4000 members of this website. That's about 6% of the depositors. It's a fun forum but it's not very important in the grand scheme of things.

I think you are right. Let's get them to build the Elio and see how many will come.

I am pretty certain that the Elio will be a popular machine. I am most worried about a few people who might misuse the Elio and in turn hurt themselves. I hope that people who buy an Elio recognize that the narrow profile makes them a little less visible to other drivers. Motorcycle riders know that feeling, and need to drive a lot more defensively and keep more free space around them. Maybe we need to start a thread which will let Motorcycle riders give a few examples and advice about how we should drive an Elio.

I am not sure if the Elio will be harder to see like a Motorcycle seems to be, but it won't hurt to drive more defensively.

I look forward to driving my Rocket silver Elio. I know I will practice my Motorcycle experience when I get it.

Great point and I agree 110%.
You have to drive it always thinking, they can't see me, never assume that they can.
I took and I taught the class at Evergreen Safety Console<?> (why do I keep thinking that's spelled wrong, I think it is for the context) for 2 years and learned a lot each time I taught a class, it did change parts of my riding habits; but one thing to always remember, don't assume the people in the cars can see you, there are times they can't, their brains just blank at times. The sooner you act like that, the safer you'll be.

After 48 years of riding motorcycles, 3 wrecks being hit by cars, a lot of close calls, and the training at riding courses, I am pretty convinced that the Elio will be much like a Motorcycle in that regard. What it also has is three airbags, seat belts, a third wheel, and a protective shell. I think that the Elio rider/driver is going to fair a lot better than the bike rider. I am planning on it extending my riding adventures another 10 or more years.

At least, I think it will be good for me for at least 20 to 25
