Thoughts on self driving readiness? Should it have the options for the hardware and get software updates later. This would be similar to the Tesla model 3.

Potential partners other than Tesla who might go for it... However Tesla could gain from the licenseing of their tech with zero danger from Elio so that would be the best partner.

Thoughts? Someday I would love to zip pas tragic in the fast lane while not driving... And not spending 30k or even 20k for a car that will only carry me and tare through miles...

I have self driving already. Sometimes, if the road is straight and traffic is light, I like to take a short nap.

maybe not full autonomous driving, but what about some of it. auto braking, cruise control with gap keeping, lane departure. What would that cost?

The tech required to make it self-driving would probably at least double the price, if not more.

Before I retired I was a software development manager.
Do I want to trust my life to software?
Think about how many times your computer tells you it needs to reboot for an upgrade!
At 70 or 80 MPH?
You might want to rethink that........

They were hacking Jeep Cherokee's UConnect Infotainment system a year or so ago, with the ability to kill the engine while you were driving down the road. Hope they got that fixed because my wife drives one.
