Trucks had a "big one" on lap 2
Xfinity cars had to be red flagged a couple of time; race ended up taking longer than a 600 miler and it was only 300 miles
Top Series destroyed over 1/3 of the field

NASCAR says it got what they expected and it was a move in the right direction; haven't heard from the owners yet but I don't think they like spending that much money.

I think the set-up and lack of downforce was the main culprit. Get too high and the wall sucked them in. Get too close the the rear quarter made the other guy loose. Could hardly get the train to chooch! No one could hold a line. In tunnel tests, these cars are like a wing, but longer more than wide. And like a wing there are side vortacies that force a space unseen, but can push like a hip check, that tail putting the car into a yaw. It was winner by attrition.

They knew that going in; Brian and the brain trust narrowed the rear spoiler, and changed the nose.
They knew that were taking away downforce.

I could see them getting loose for no apparent reason. Could not figure it out. Two cars running side by side and suddenly one would get loose.

And I wonder how many cars they tear up this time. Atlanta is fast, but it's soon to be faster (it's getting repaved).
The crew that does the repaving knows what they are doing, they proved it every time they redo a track (yes, same people).
So shall we take bets on how many cars end the race? Probably more than Daytona, but not by much; so I'll guess 28; seems that they like hitting the wall coming out of turn 2 and if they are "pushing the envelope" the wall after turn 4.

first segment went without incident .... AMEN on Danica, my girl started 24th and has moved up to 17th where she is still on the lead lap
