After reading these last four posts it seems that Elio is finally headed in the right direction.
Until there's another client, Elio would seem to have Turnberry's undivided attention. Since this is their first client, I imagine Turnberry will work very hard to secure funding, CAFE credits, and other regulatory or policy changes that can facilitate Elio's production. If they can succeed in helping save Elio, they'll generate buzz in lobbying circles, gain lots of credibility, and probably will have a lot more clients lined up.
I totally agree!

There is a second client - "The firm started lobbying last month for two clients, Elio Motors and the Center for Sportfishing Policy, according to disclosure filings made public this week." plus possibly the Polish Government. Full article here

With Lewandowskis's ties to Turnberry, Elio's hopes for an ATVM loan or cafe credits went down to zero. Elio is not under the radar anymore, what a stupid move.

I suspect they are paid at least in part (perhaps in whole) with Elio stock.
EM hired another lobbying firm earlier. I do remember they were paid in part with stock and I believe some money.
I wonder how much money the sportfishing policy gig is paying.

I do not believe the federal government will pass any law related to a vehicle that is not even in production. They will probably take a wait and see approach. More likely any law passage will occur after the vehicle is in production and the company looks like it is financially sound and will be producing vehicles for a while. I don't know what EM believes this lobbying firm can accomplish at this point, unless they are going to grease the skids for the future passage of such a bill, after the company is in production.

This is always confusing to me. EM does these things looking like production is a certainty, but yet produces such a doom and gloom picture. It could be interpreted as evidence that the company will go into production and we simply do not know full story. But if that is the case, why would they reduce their work force to only 9 people. I hope there is a book or movie some day explaining everything.

Could you please give a further explanation of why that is a stupid move? Why would "not under the radar anymore" be a bad thing? If more people knew about the benefits of an Elio, maybe that would help it get funded and/or get the ATVM loan.

Lewanowski is toxic. If Elio got Cafe credits and/or ATVM loan the press would vilify the government. Everyone is trying to distance themselves from him, why would Elio think that he will be helpful?

I think the Lewandowski connection and it’s supposed toxicity is overrated. Unless the request for legislative/regulatory changes and federal funding can be traced to the Russians, or the Elio’s parts are somehow sourced to North Korean factories, I really don’t think there would be an uproar to the feds finally issuing an ATVM loan for a program that’s been fully funded for years but hasn’t issued a loan in years, a loan that would go to an American company building a 90%+ North American-content vehicle generating thousands of jobs at an American factory. Not many federally funded programs can check off that many boxes.

The people who are to decide, read newspapers and internet 'hearsay'... I guess. Most comments haven't been too good for Elio, to put it mildly. That is Paul's biggest concern.
