Warning... the following is from someone who is impatient and getting cranky.
Normally Elio gives us info that we want to hear. I think they messed up.
Elio says... "but just like everything we do"
I interrupt myself reading and think...Oh do you mean like ending your non answers on most follow up questions with "yet to be finalized." Cause that's what you do a lot of with my questions. I understand Elio can't discuss much either. (I warned you I was cranky and it gets less pretty from here on.)
Elio says... "but just like everything we do, we are committed to keeping prices as low as we possibly can."
I think Really! I guess just not committed enough to keeping prices low and NOT charging me a fee for a NON delivery?
So it sounds like a load of bull and a huge rip off that will disappoint many. Or maybe it's just crazy, cranky ol, cheap ass, impatient, attention deficient, sarcastic me? But sure I am as optimistic as anybody. No really. Sure maybe with an occasional depressed thought of "I cant believe I spent 1000.00 on a tee shirt". But for the most part I really do want to see light at the end of the tunnel but they keep pushing the tunnel so far away. I can barely see the tunnel in two plus years away, much less if there is any light in it. Go towards the light...Gosh that sounds like a near death experience doesn't it? I guess for many it has been or will be. I wonder how an Elio binding contract works with the person who is now dead? I mentioned I was attention deficit right? Anyway...
I say Elio do what your going to do but don't expect me to gobble up that you care so much about me, my finances or about answering questions. Please. It's insulting.
I wonder how much Elio will charge us for their tour? Better yet, how much will Elio charge us for NOT going on their tour? Perhaps it's added into the non delivery fee? What's that? Someone didn't get an auto transmission? Oops, could that be yet another fee? Ha-ha
Just think only a few more years and months to go, assuming they don't extend it again and again like the reality and history that has shown them to do this repeatedly. But why not expect a different out come each and every time? We can't all be crazy right? I did mention I was crazy though, right?
Go Elio! Please take your time, being positive is SO fun. We live on your caring words ...yet to be finalized.
I covered that I was sarcastic right? OK, Carry on.

there is nothing unusual about charging delivery charges at the factory- it's common industry practice.
A contract carrier takes his lumps delivery to Seattle or Bangor- I think picking up your 'vette at the factory has the related fees.
Of course it will be impossible to see YOUR car rolling off the line, but watching the process will be cool.
A few years ago there was discussion of arranging with a local casino to comp relationships with buyers to get a discount for the few days processing your unit. (it was also mentioned that would only apply to fly-ins), hey but that was ancient history, and the least of my financial concerns is fees.
OTD is what matters- and if it should come to pass, this will all be upfront, and simple- My dream is fading, yet I still have hope that my autocycle will come in that color which cannot be uttered (rhymes with mellow)
Nice to see the newer folks carrying on and keeping the flame.
I wish us all our "&"

The fright night blog is out
October 27, 2017

Happy Friday Elio’ers! We hope that you’re all prepared for a fun Halloween weekend. The actual holiday doesn’t take place until Tuesday, but many festivities will kick off tonight and continue on through the weekend. There will be no shortage of ways to celebrate: haunted houses, corn mazes, scary movie marathons and costume parties are all fantastic options. If Halloween isn’t exactly your kind of holiday, you can just kick back and watch the World Series, but you’ll still want to stock up on candy for Trick or Treaters. And, if you polish off most of the bowl before Tuesday, we won’t judge.

The Halloween holiday got us to thinking about different ways to “dress up” your Elio. Even though production is targeted to begin in 2019, it’s never too early to start thinking about the different applications for your vehicle. Plus, we get tons of different requests and suggestions when it comes to available options. So, today we’ll look at how you will be able to customize your Elio through different wraps.

Let’s start with the basics. From time to time, we get asked just what a wrap is. Simply put, vehicle wraps are essentially a new skin to go over the paint of the vehicle to change the color and look of the vehicle. A wrap covers every single painted inch of the vehicle. If you go to our website and use the configurator, you will be able to get a feel for how wraps will look on the Elio. Keep in mind that the wraps we currently have listed are only a small sample of the wraps we will have available. The wraps currently on the configurator have more to do with different shades of color.

Among the Elio Motors community, there are some really talented photoshop artists. We have been sent hundreds of ideas for different wraps, from a Captain America themed Elio to an Elio shark, and they are all awesome! We plan on having a ton of different wraps to make the Elio as unique as you.

We often get asked if we will offer custom paint jobs straight from the factory. Part of the reason we’re able to keep the base price low is by producing 14 total vehicles from the plant: 7 different colors and 2 different transmissions. We will not be offering custom paint jobs, but we’re confident you’ll find a local shop that will get the job done. We will also offer some pretty awesome wraps that will rival any shop’s expertise!

For those of you that plan on using the Elio for business, using a wrap will make your vehicle extra-eye catching. Not only will the sleek design and unique configuration turn heads, but if you choose to use a customized wrap you’ll really command some attention while you’re cruising around town. The Elio and a wrap will make for a great 1-2 combo!

Thanks for your support and have a tremendous weekend!

I wonder if the "targeted to begin in 2019" would change if full funding came through next week.
I also wonder why ElioMotors has not learned the lesson of not targeting until you have ammunition in hand, after all the misses.

We all have personal answers to your "wonder ifs".

I wonder about the Elio Shark Wrap. "Sometimes I Wonder" playing softly in the background.
