We've all heard the 76 week timeline that Paul has stated for production to begin after funding was received. What if I told you that timeline is being compressed and the required funding was reduced by over $100M? Well, Paul has said as much.

I know. "We've already seen that press release." I get it.
Key in on what Paul actually says (and it makes complete sense) "Purchasing an OEM's existing powertrain has an enormous impact on the project, it helps both expedite the timeline, and it directly reduces our capital requirement by about $120 million dollars", said Elio Motors CEO, Paul Elio. "This powertrain will also greatly enhance the Elio's performance by nearly doubling its horsepower while still maintaining class-leading fuel economy at an affordable ultra-low price."
(underlines are mine for emphasis)

The rosy outlook from this partnership with Roush is "Hey, this could mean production could possibly start within a year of announcing funding has been received!" The non-rosy outlook would be "'class-leading fuel economy' is far from '84 MPG' and probably means the Elio will get closer to 60 than 84MPG."

I'm waiting like everyone else for that email telling me my Elio will be produced in 30 days and asking what options I want.

My non refundable 1K is still good so I'm still in for my ELIO no matter how far behind EM is from the finish line. Although my focus have somewhat changed from years of waiting, it's them doing the hard work (if that's the case:D) none the less, it's way better receiving (I stopped reading them) their rehashed blogs than receiving nothing at all- that would mean all bets are off the table.

What may happen is a financial backer might insist on limited production to get things moving before full production is implemented. So full production may be 76 weeks, but Elio may make "pre-production" examples that would go to the people with money, therefore bypassing the spot-in-line reservations, which are for when full production is started. Right?

Possibly though I think their 76 week timeline was to get to the point where the line could actually poop out vehicles that have their final design complete.

Paul Elio said "This powertrain will also greatly enhance the Elio's performance by nearly doubling its horsepower while still maintaining class-leading fuel economy...”

What the heck is class-leading fuel economy?

What class (type) of vehicle is Paul Elio attempting to making a comparison with?

The Elio saga has become so convoluted.

76, 86, 100 weeks, etc. these numbers don't mean squat without funding!
