A good alternative for the price point EM was trying to reach.
Gonna get the Soul base w/auto. Nice comfortable ride (for my bad knees- sits up well, little lower than a SUV, but much higher than a sedan).- CR likes 'em, and they get great reviews, yea, I know the milage is crap, but I don't ride around much. Aside, They are offering for 2k down the EV Soal lease for $199/month for 36 months,
was interested, but got no place to plug it in

Piece of junk you say- Comes with a 6 yr 60k miles (as I used to call it) bumper to bumper coverage, roadside assistance, and loaner if problem
Yea I know that ain't OTD, but neither is 7.4k for the E. and it'san easier sell then a autocycle.

Coincidentally: I am driving a brand new 2018 Kia Soul today. (A dealer loaner.) Not a bad little car. A bit underpowered, I think, but I've only driven it about 30 miles down the highway. I like it better than the Corolla or Accord rentals I had last month. The Accord's stereo interface was total garbage. The Kia Soul's is way better. When I went to pair my phone to the stereo, it actually had verbal instructions. An odd thing to like a car for, but it made the process quick and easy, as opposed to the stupidly painful 10 minute process with the Honda. The Soul is pretty comfortable, and an easy drive.

Anyone who says Hyundais and Kias are pieces of junk now have not been paying attention. Their quality has gone way up over the past 15 years and the warranty is killer. We have had two Kia Sorentos, a Kia Rio, and a Hyundai Veloster in the family. The only one that had warranty work done was the second Sorento, the shift computer was glitchy and they replaced it without question.

The cheapest was my 2006 Kia Rio LX that I got for $12,500 OTD. It was a fantastic car, 0 problems and more fun to drive than it had any right to be. I mistakenly sold it when I came across a really good deal on a Mini Cooper S turbo which was a huge mistake. Should have kept the Rio, but live and learn.

The Souls are nice and have a lot of useful space. Enjoy!

It's cars like these that are going to make it much harder for Elio to be successful when they come out with the 2019 model. There are too many cheap new cars you can buy today that will be Elio price by 2019 and still have a good warranty. VW is offering now 6 year/72K mile bumper to bumper that is owner transferable. Companies keep raising the bar on what they offer on the bare bones models today and it makes an Elio look like it's from circa 2011 with what it has as a base model. Things like bluetooth radios that are voice controlled, backup cameras and multi button steering wheels are all standard today. By the time you add on all of those items through the ePlus program, the car is not so cheap.

Ah, the latest FUD from our shill for GM, or is it a conglomeration of legacy manufacturers... it's so hard to tell.
(Fear Uncertainty Doubt)

So we're comparing the retail price of Elio for the panic sale price for KIA (not Killed in action by the way)
So an Apples to Apples comparison would be $7,400 retail for the Elio and $16,995 for the Kis Soul.

What's that? the Soul is over TWICE the price of the Soul?
That doesn't make good FUD!!

Do you know WHY the prices have dropped?
Because they're not selling. ALL of the car manufacturers that you represent are in PANIC mode because of industry disrupters like Tesla and potential disrupters like Elio.

But continue to spout half truths.

I don't have the same time and resources as you so, so I'll have to choose my battles wisely but keep spewing FUD.

I'll be there.

Not true. Not by a long shot. Since the beginning of December, I have driven three rental/loaner cars:
* 2017 Toyota Corolla
* 2017 Honda Accord
* 2018 Kia Soul (brand new, only had 18 miles on it)

The Corolla was the only one that had a backup camera, and that camera was a piece of crap. Picture quality bad enough to be unusable in anything other than full daylight.

None of them had voice controlled radio, but they all had bluetooth connectivity. The Honda's radio had a garbage interface. The Toyota was adequate, but not user-friendly. The Kia's seems good so far.

They did all have pretty extensive steering wheel controls. Though for some weird reason the Toyota still had that little button next to the odometer that you had to use for the trip meter control/reset.

Of these three cars, the Toyota was the one I liked the least.

I stand corrected, not all of the cars but it's becoming standard on most. As for backup cameras, every 2018 onward 4 wheeled car has them as mandated by federal law.

The point is, what used to be something you'd never see on a cheapo base model car back in a year like 2013, is not the case today. Every year that passes, the base model cars are getting more and more of that technology that was only reserved for the high end cars in 2013. Each year Elio waits to get to production, means it's not offering the dirt cheap technology that is off the shelf and what people expect. It would be like selling a cell phone today that does not text or take pictures. You can probably still get one but the reality is, that's a niche of a niche market.

Eplus will have all the breakable toys that people want in there cars.
Leaves the rest of us with vehicles with less things to break.
Price of accessories on eplus right now are not set in stone, and should go down
to a price that sells.

My brother in law had one and liked it. He has MS and liked the ease of entry. They pulled his license (thankfully), so he sold it.
