Elio utilized social media to spread the word and raise funds. That’s the good side of social media. When you stop the updates through that method people will start to wonder what is going on and start the doubting. That is the bad. Telling people to sign up for email updates is counter to using the platform that you praised and used for raising finding. Elio should at least have a bi weekly update on Facebook and Twitter because that gets right into everyone’s face as opposed to email. When you have 300K followers you need to let them know you are still in business. Right now Elio is catering to the loyal followers.

Hi Husker1...FYI... I have deep family roots with with regards to Nebraska...Go Big Red!

With regards to Elio and this forum... everyone should have the right to speak his or hers mind in a civil non- threatening manner...

Simply stated...Elio cashed our checks...this we should have rights to transparently... after all...Elio is a public company!

I’m not really upset with Elio...but I distinctly remember Paul paid himself 250 K a year with our money...

I’m just patiently waiting for the truth to come out... where are the latest SEC documents... those required reports will shed some light on the current situation...
I think the 250k was minor compared to the money he made off Elio from ESG. I noticed most Elio groups on Facebook are now allowing negative comments from members. Elio Motor Facebook removes most of the negative comments, but you can see how many are removed. Only Mike Nollan is allowed to reply without review it seems.

Elio Motors has long prided itself as a “Start-up” vehicle manufacture that focused on digital promotion of their product...along with their roadshows...

I just decided to look up their current Facebook digital platform...

A bit disconcerting...the last information update on their Facebook page was Sept. 17th, 2017...

The more interesting fact is...their Facebook page has 325,358 followers!

Not a very good marketing philosophy to allow more than 300,000 potential customers to view a stagnant marketing platform...

I'm one of the followers on that facebook page. As things began to stall and production dates slipped, they were getting killed with negative posts every time they updated something. Frankly, at that point, it was doing more harm than good.

If you’re a public company...you have to be able to take the heat if you don’t meet expectations...

Possibly they should discontinue their Facebook page...or modify it so no comments are allowed...

Social media advertising has to be current...or it becomes non-relevant...

It’s a fast-paced world out there... no place for stagnant infomation...

I agree with all of the above. I'm just meant that, in my opinion, that's the reason they stopped updating the page.

I think we’re all waiting for the truth to come out! I have recently been wondering if this thing does come to an end, exactly what is the epitaph going to say? Maybe it will turn into another season of the X files. Mulder and Scully can find out if the truth is out there.

I have always maintained (here) that "time to market" is the key component to success. Elio is not the first to blow this, nor will they be the last. The company that gets this will get my money.

Very well stated...the production promises of a Elio vehicle have dragged on for almost 10 years...

Ford spent over $250,000,000 designing the Edsel before ever producing one. That's over $2,000,000,000 in today's dollars. Manufacturers will ALWAYS spend money designing a vehicle before building them. Are ALL of them scams as well? Kind of an idiotic view to assume every manufacturer (or future manufacturer) is a scam if they haven't produced their vehicles yet.

Elio secured a facility and vehicle manufacturing equipment, got a lot of engineering done (twice at least since they hit a dead end with the roll cage frame), HVAC engineered, suspension engineered, body molds made (twice - once for composite and once for steel), lined up suppliers, made changes through 5 models of prototypes (So, basically, the next one will be the 6th generation), did a lot of legislative work getting helmet laws for enclosed three wheelers changed, introduced "Autocycle" in the Senate and House, locked in the PPG system of automotive paint standards, got engineering/manufacturing done for tires specific to the Elio, designed an engine and produced at least one copy of the engineered engine, listed their stock, applied for funding, developed options for manufacturing, etc.

But yeah, say they haven't produced anything and call it a scam. Whatever floats your little boat.

NOT saying that since Elio has not produced anything= it's a scam. What I don't believe is that Elio Supporters are being given the total picture. When you consider ALL the monies which have gone into Elio Motors coffers over past nine years, initial IPO, Depositors, SEC filing etc.; there should be AN ACCOUNTING FOR 'WHERE' THE MONEY HAS GONE before the next round of funding goes into Elio Motors bank accounts.
Okay, I'll give you that. They don't owe it to us to tell us everything that goes on even if we reserved their product but it would be nice to see the particulars. It can't be easy to start a car company and that's probably the reason many haven't done it. It wouldn't be hard to build a single car and then another single car and then another single car... but that would take forever and most of these custom build shops can't scale up production. That's the reason you don't see a lot of little Elios running around. It doesn't make sense to make a bunch of one-offs. They need to get that factory up and running and producing some vehicles. I really thought they'd get the engineering done and then produce a test batch of, say, 100 at the Shreveport plant with minimal staffing to prove the concept/set the line. If they ever get together enough money to pump out the first 100 like that, I think the rest of the money needed would show up. Basically, I feel that investors would be more likely to take a shot when all they are doing is increasing production of a known product vs. starting from scratch.

Now, come on, Paul, get those first 100 or so built!
