In winter it will charge to about 35 miles, in summer up to 50. This suits MOST of my needs. It takes just a hair over 3 hours to charge on L2 and 12 - 14 hours on L1. Again, since I'm now retired, it suits 99.99% of my needs on electric.

In answer to the original question, I usually only charge once a day, I have a L2 charger.
I also have gas in the tank...I carry about 2 gallons, just in case

I think he's just pointing out that its not a comparison saying you spend XX dollars on gas a month to his XX dollars in electricity costs when you most likely drive very little compared to him.
