Yes, it is the same. The top of the vehicle is computer generated.
I test drove a new VW Tiguan and it had that feature too. My current VW has just a rear view but it's pretty funny what they did on the camera because it's hidden and part of the rear hatch release. One thing is, it's never dirty. Here's a video I found of it's operation.

After driving a 65 foot big rig for many years, I will not feel the need for a backup camera on my ELIO.

Is it the same as the Dodge one? The Dodge one looks like a camera overhead, it does show the roof of the vehicle also.
My Chevy Bolt has that. It works very well. I often hear it referred to as the drone view. My only complaint is that the car in the drone view is white, but my Bolt is blue... :(

When I sat in the orange model - I specifically checked out the mirrors and what could be seen. There wasn’t any blind spot to speak of. Something would have to be about a foot wide and right up to the tail light to not be seen. I’ll feel safe without a camera... then again, I’ll probably get one anyway. My wife will feel more at ease with a camera while driving.

Not having an interior rear view mirror will take me a little getting use to. I use mine a lot.

Then again - I didn’t have an interior mirror in my old bike days either - and I did ok ;)

Proof that Elio reads this forum (or at least did a while back). They ripped my picture and put it on the Momentum!

Elio Motors has nothing to do with this site, it is owned and operated by an independent source.
So it wasn't Elio Motors that did anything as you stated. I suggest you retract your statement.

Umm... he's not saying they are affiliated. He's saying they stole his picture from this forum and put it in their newsletter. Read the linked post, and get all the proof you need.

And then maybe apologize for threatening him.

I don't think I threatened him, it was a statement.
If he felt threatened, yes I apologize, but it was never how it was intended.
Elio Motors has nothing to do with this site, and I doubt they even know about it.
Well they probably know about it, but Elio Motors has nothing to do with it.
There are quite a few Elio sites, none of which have anything to do with Elio Motors, except for the Elio Motors site.
Elio Motors makes it a point not to have anything to do with external sites, it keeps them out of having to deal with any of them.

So Rob, if it really bothered him that much, I sure he knows how to send private messages, he's been on here since 2014, and I'm sure he knows how to speak up if he feels he was being singled out. So don't make more out of this then it really is. A simple comment.
