Apparently "lane sharing" is when two motorcycle drive side-by-side in a single lane, essentially occupying the same space as a single car.
"Lane splitting" is when motorcycles drive on the line between lanes, potentially between cars that are driving on either side within the marked lanes.
Then there's "filtering", which is when motorcycle quickly change lanes back and forth, weaving between lanes to move forward in traffic.
