I wonder if they will build the 1500 Chevy trail boss with the 3.0 liter diesel, or the f150 powerstoke soon I would love to see either or both hit the road but that size truck would be ideal to possibly replace my 2002 duramax in a few years.

Diesel cost more there? Really, it's still cheaper here, so that looks like a change based on location. Hmm diesel is more expensive there, interesting.
Finding someone to work on them is not a problem around here, there is a glut of diesel mechanics on this side of the Rockies; here's another one to look into but I don't think it's any problem here, there are diesels in a lot of trucks, cars, boats and heavy equipment.
Hell a lot of places beg for work for diesels, they have the mechanics for it.
I did a cursory check through both Flying J and Gasbuddy and couldn't find anywhere in the US where diesel was less expensive than regular gas. In Washington state, diesel is about $.50 more expensive than regular gas per gallon while here in Nebraska, it's $.30 more per gallon.

from what we've seen over a good many years, that's pretty much the norm .... we travel extensively towing our camper .... based on what we've experienced, when it comes to pulling heavy loads over long distances, diesels excel ..... while they do usually get better mileage and run stronger at high altitudes, they are usually heavier, their fuel cost more, usually cost more in parts and labor to service

I went to that link JEBar provided and got this "No results were found." so I couldn't do any comparisons.

You notice they call it a 2.7 turbo rather then a 4cyl turbo, that's not a pickup, that's a big car.
They said the Chevy 4cyl turbo performs great, until you put a load in it, then it grunts to keep pace at normal speeds.
A 4cyl in a full size PU is just wrong, I don't care what they say.
For years I had a 1988 Chevy Truck with the 350 in it. It had 210hp and 288 ft-lbs of torque. That compares to the 310hp and 348 ft-lbs of torque for the new 2019 4 cylinder motor. I was able to haul lots of stuff with it and it did fine. It got faster over the years because it was rusting like crazy and thus lighter. It wasn't a rocket ship but it did what was needed. I'd think with the increase in power and an 8 speed, it's got to be better than what that old truck had.

earlier this morning we had some time to kill and decided to see if our local Chevy dealer had a 2019 with a 6.2 L gasoline engine in stock .... as it turned out, the one shown in the pictures below arrived yesterday .... they put a tag on it and we took it for a test drive .... as a side note, while we were out on the test drive, 3 more arrived .... first impressions were very favorable .... its 10 speed transmission is the smoothest I've ever driven .... the only way I could tell it was changing gears was to glance at the tach .... very quiet in the cab, I couldn't hear any tire or road noise .... the 6.2 was very responsive and I could definitely tell a difference from our current 5.3 L .... EPA 15 city / 20 country --- 17 average mpg .... in spite of being equipped with 20" tires, its ride was good .... it should be even better with 18" tires .... its proximity sensors all worked well .... as can be seen below, the backup camera has a overhead view .... the cab room seems to be larger than that of our current truck .... it also has 110 outlets in the cab and in the bed .... unless there is a major / unexpected change in circumstances, we won't be in the market for a new truck until March of 2021 so there is no hurry .... I'm looking forward following the introduction of this new market and its real world performance .... naturally, also looking forward to a few more test drives along the way

other than to check the EPA numbers, I really didn't look at the sticker ..... based on the link, my best guess would be the sticker is in the low to mid 60's .... actual buying price would be something less
