the sport is undergoing a natural part of the cycle where a bunch of young blood comes in as veterans retire .... I remember the same type of thing that came in with Richard Petty and later Jeff Gordon .... SHR is a relatively young company but from day one, with the exception of Danica, it has been built by them hiring veteran cup drivers .... I don't have a clue if they will stick with that philosophy or will bring in some kids

Very true, the only reason they brought Danacan't is because she was good for a sponsor (or 3).
She was never a factor.
And now that Kurt is gone, who do you think is going to replace him?

I don't know for certain Kurt won't be back .... he's on a one year contract now and I'm sure he'd prefer a longer one .... after 1 Chase race he's 6th .... where he finishes will have an impact on his marketability

I tend to believe the only reason they gave the 10 car to Aric Almirola is he brought Smithfield foods with him as a sponsor

True true, so it pays to have a sponsor following you, to get you on a team.
And he is doing a hell of a lot better then Danacan't ever did.
That worked out great for SHR.
I was wondering if Kurt was going to move over to Newman's seat, it would be a decent fit for him there.
As always, it's wait and see what happens at the end of the year.

per NASCAR's website ===> Ryan Newman to join Roush Fenway Racing next year he will drive their No. 6 car

I suspect that means Kenseth is done

The main driver for the 6 car was Trevor Bain, he's gone, and Kenseth moves to development (aka back office)
Yep, the Trev is out as a cup driver for Roush, and nothing about where he's going has been said.
Roush was getting tired of not being competitive, Newman is there because he knows what he's doing, he does have the experience.
Any word on Kurt Busch?

AJ Allmendinger, who delivered JTG Daugherty’s first team win in a Watkins Glen thriller back in 2014, will not return to the No. 47 Chevrolet next year, the team has announced.

Allmendinger has driven the No. 47 for the Tad Geschickter-owned team since late in the 2013 season. His masterful win at The Glen was the highlight, with the dramatic victory qualifying the team for the postseason.

no clue who is on tap to take his place

above is from NASCAR's website
