So $12,300, goodness, that's a bunch for basically a golf cart.

Actually, no.
The date of that article is September 1st 2016. Even then it was outdated.
The company has been sold and the new owners have no current plans to produce the Sam.
For all intents and purposes the Sam is a dead issue. There were only about 300 total manufactured and sold in Europe

Good call. Joe says it'll take six weeks.

I'm sure he could "one off" it as a beta, but they want to start taking orders in the US ASAP.
I'm not going to hold my breath on the six weeks projection. We've heard that before.
It's going to be interesting to see how it looks with a center headlamp fixture.
