I also noticed that in a GizMag article. I'm hoping it does well and Tesla takes notice.(and don't discount it for using sociable seating)(i.e. tandem seating is a major driving factor to use the 2f1R layout, eliminate that and you are left with the less pragmatic reasons)

I'm also hoping they keep the power and CG in check. Too much power to the rear with extra rear-ward weight in a 2f1r can be deadly. There is plenty of opportunity to add hub motors up front for an all-wheel-drive design. Even just 20-40% power is at the front (and CG changes to match) can make a huge difference. Of course I prefer CV's and inboard motors for lower un-sprung weight, 50/50 power 50/50 weight. This enables the most extreme power turns. (all wheel drifting anyone?.. ok they may need to add a power distribution fly-by-wire control) All that is not hard to engineer into a $40k-$100k RT like the T.

An even better result would be a major investor who is inspired to jump in the game but requires Elio to offer an EV version at more than $15k each, also not hard to engineer starting from the Elio base vehicle. The ICE and EV versions would sell each other by bringing eye-balls to the show-room floor. Smartly the Elio-ESS (Electric Super Sport) could be a limited edition at $30k+ while it's novelty factor is present.

I will suggest however, covered fenders like my Atlantric provide spaces perfect for a range extended battery pack and a range extending motor-generator under the hood(bonnet). Unfortunately the Elio door is not compatible with enclosed fenders(wings).

I daily visit and regularly post on the Tesla forum. People there are almost zero interested in any other configuration than the conventional four-wheel car setup Tesla is using. Applies to Elon Musk too, regretfully.

Too bad Zero Motorcycles isn’t on Elio Marketing’s power train supplier list. :)

Even Tesla Owner’s need a three wheeler commuter EV to supplement their family EVs. They apparently just don’t know it yet.

I called one of the Seattle based Tesla Stores to get information on a Model X Lease. They never got back to me. I emailed Tesla’s on-line contact regarding the no response..........and got no response. Seems to be a negative indicator of what the Tesla customer service might be with after the sale warranty or service issues. Any discussion about customer service on the Tesla Forum?
