At this point, I don't think further reservations help Elio very much if at all. At this point, if they were to build the 65,000, word of mouth would probably sell at least twice that many which would keep the factory busy while they get their process down. The profit on 65,000 should be at least $65,000,000 (Elio said they had $1,000 built into the sale price as profit and the sale of options should pretty much make up for the discounts we got) which would get them on the road to profitability in a hurry. Selling another 65,000 from word of mouth should result in at least $1,500 profit each assuming $2,000 of options are added at their previously stated 25% margin... That's an additional $97.5M to add to the original $65M... $162.5M profit on the first year or year and a half? I'll take it. Now, someone reading this, be and angel and get this thing started.

I asked in my previous post and I'll ask it again, what exactly does Elio need to post that is more factual and updated website?

They could take some things out that are no longer accurate or relevant. The last time I looked under media I found the following; "Nothing screams momentum like massive media coverage". I looked at the media coverage listed and the most recent was OCT 16 2016!!!

One possible update that should be made is regarding the change in the most important long-term decision Paul made regarding the Elio engine and partnership with IAV in the first post of the thread. Update: The recent announcement of using an off the shelf engine might be the best decision made in a long time.

I’m interested enough in the Elio to check out Elio Marketing’s website periodically hoping for updates and or announcements. I ass.u.me you all do the same? Updating the website would be something to keep Chip Stempeck, Chief Elio Marketer and weekly Blog Writer busy.

I was thinking what ZELIO might say. Should the most respected long time running Elio Owners Forum and Forum members in good conscience recommend to a family member, friend, or general newcomer to Elio Marketing and the Elio Owners Forum to place a non-refundable reservation deposit? I don’t think Z with her common sense and relative kindness would. Perhaps a wait for EM’s funding announcement before placing even a refundable reservation deposit would be the most appropriate recommendation and greatly appreciated by those newbies to Elio with little to no Elio Marketing history. Go Elio, but go with caution at this point in time, rather than blind faith and trust.
What you would think is that Elio would have something right up front when you go on the website that would have the latest info. Right now, here's the latest and time from today:

MoU with new Engine - 9/27/2018 (5 months, 19 days)
Eliocoin offering - 9/20/2018 (5 months, 26 days)
Overstock Announcement - 4/25/18 (10 months, 21 days)

I have faith in Paul but he really needs to be better at communications with his investors. I ask this for anyone that is married. Do you like the silent treatment?

Remember Paul said the average cost of those 65K Elio's were to be $10,700 too. That means there will be plenty that will spend $13K on an Elio to offset the bare bones models. Then let's not forget the approximate $33M Elio is leaving on the table due to those reservations. In the end, who here is forking over $10,700 for their Elio? How about $13K?

Point well made!

Paul is an expert with regards to the “Silent Treatment”.

I’m not so sure Paul will ever understand the term “corporate transparency”.

IMHO...Paul’s long periods of silence always speaks volumes about his abilities to ever be an effective spokesperson for Elio Motors.

Good news...or bad news....Elio investors and reservation holders deserve a steady stream of updated information.

There are plenty of outside shareholders. Problem is, we don't own enough to make a difference. Elio seems to have ditched the stockholders meetings too. I remember a time when some here went to those meetings.

I checked the Elio Motors website today to see if they’re making any much needed product information revision’s...

No changes to their website...same outdated information...

And I quote from the Elio Motors website...

“One of the most important long-term decisions made by Paul Elio was to develop our own engine from the ground up. There’s a reason Elio Motors is the first start-up vehicle manufacturer in 60 years to build its own internal combustion engine. It isn’t easy!”

“Elio Motors has partnered with the world-class team at IAV to design an engine that meets our fuel efficiency requirements and provides the performance that our customers demand. Our new engine is a bridge to the future that relies on a traditional internal combustion engine, but delivers significantly higher fuel efficiency.”

“The Elio features a fuel-injected, SOHC gas-powered, 3 cyl., .9 liter, liquid-cooled engine. The engine is 55 HP with 55 LB-FT of torque, has a top speed over 100 MPH, and goes 0-60 speed in projected 10.8 seconds.”

I sincerely don’t think there’s anybody left at the helm of Elio Motors anymore...
