The Model 3 was not available and it's way more expensive over my i3. Then Tesla makes a $10K Model 3, then I'll buy it. Best part is, I can use the i3, 365 days a year where I live and if it took a complete dump, there's a BMW dealer that can fix it. That's something that only the Polaris autocycle can do.
You choose what you choose, I choose what I choose, other people choose what they choose for a variety of reasons, but you make the statement, “it’s the people’s only choice right now.” Nice to have three & four wheeler options to choose from and even nicer the choice to buy and drive it right now.

Ever since i bought that i3, I'm wondering if an Elio would fit in. It's my "and" car and when I need to got 400 miles to a job, I take my regular car. When I need to go 50 miles, I take the i3. Pretty much, 90% of what I need to do works with the i3. It's cheaper to operate than an Elio. Since just about everyone else here goes 300-400 miles to work all of the time, the Elio would be the best choice. I'm lucky I don't have to do that. Until the Tesla E comes out for $7500 and has a 600+ mile range, the Elio is the only choice people have right now.
Tesla can't/won't make a model E. Ford owns that name. Hence, the model 3 which was supposed to be Model E.

Tesla will just change to to the Tesla Model P (P for Paul). Then the Problem is solved. It's just like that Tesla can't use E-Ray because GM owns that which says that the best Corvette ever made will be an EV. I can't wait because all of the Corvette enthusiasts are chomping at the bit for it.

Since Elio has never finalized, or completed a specification ready prototype...hard to know if Elio fits in.

I beg to differ. Any good business plan would have a well defined market to which you intend to sell your products. That should be established before you even turn the first wheel.

Problem with the Elio being changed to either a hybrid or full electric is that first the cost would go up. My guess would be $5000.00. That would make the payback in gas savings much longer to pay for itself. To really make the Elio electric, in a proper way, would require a complete redesign. Sure, it could have features shared with the current prototypes, like the narrow width, three wheels, etc., but the best place for batteries would be in the back or under the floorboards. Also, the engine is serving as a safety device, providing a crumple zone and directing crash forced downward. An electric powertrain would need to also provide some protection.

Im not suggesting that the Elio change to hybrid or EV tech. Its been a number of years since Paul introduced the Elio as a plus one vehicle. Since that introduction, the EV and Hybrid markets have seen quite allot of change. There are obvious EV fans and even some owners on this list and Im curious where they see the Elio in their future plans.

There is not a big enough facepalm for this statement. How exactly is the Elio not a valid transportation choice?

Agreed! There are actually more Elio's in existence than Ferrari P4/5's and I don't think anywone would say its not a valid form of transport. Although, I really doubt anyone on this board could afford one. If you can.... I have a little car startup you may be interested in....

From my point of view, the Elio is in fact becoming less relevant with every day that passes and its not produced. There has been little to no info from Paul for whatever reason you choose. Its hard to gauge the Elio's future and there is little to talk about. If you read this board on a regular basis, you would think that it was an EV or Tesla fanboy board. I get that, but then got to wondering why would a Tesla fanboy or Nissan Fan or whatever EV manufacture be interested in the Elio. Why would an EV owner turn to Elio. Could it be that the Elio now is the Oh S**T! I didn't have enough time to charge my Tesla + 1 car? I think that's a valid Elio discussion.

Found a new one that we can all pin our hopes and dreams on. It sounds great because it has a concept picture, they are going to not produce the car until 2021, this SUV will be selling before the end of 2021, it goes 300 miles, and they are looking for a place to build these EV SUV's. All of this for $40K. Sounds like we have a winner and Tesla beater coming. Hitting the market with two world class Fisker EV's at once. This is a great opportunity for Elio to help Fisker get off the ground by letting them use the plant for a while and raise funds.

I though Fisker auto went belly up in 2014 and became Karma. Good to see they are still around though how many times have we heard about delay after delay after delay. I wish them luck.
