Still driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee that i bought new. The Elio would have been a free vehicle just with the difference in saved gas on my 78 mile daily commute. Don't have to worry about saving miles on the Jeep. It now has 266000k and drinks gas just fine. What I loose in fuel expenditure, I save in insurance and repairs. I will continue to drive it till it drops, but would love to still get in on an Elio, but look at the project as a dead horse that needs to go to the glue factiory.

Same here. Lots has happened since I went all in. I was hoping that my Kia Sorento would last longer when I got my Elio and would be driving the Elio much less. But I got tired of putting money into the Kia and bought a Ford Explorer a couple years ago. Totaled it about a moth ago and bought another Explorer.

Traded my motorcycle in on a Kia Soul . Like the seat height, gas milage and reliability reports. Have just about used all the life of my Wife’s car. Still hoping for the Elio. Maybe my grandson will be driving by then.

I gave up on the Elio and purchased a 2018 Camry Hybrid LE 16 month's ago. It gets 52 mpg combined and has room for 5. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I really wanted the Elio for my commute car, but I will be retired before it ever see's production.

I'm retired but still want my elio. I was doing some financial analysis and realize I still spend almost $200/month on gas. If I had my elio I'd be spending about $40/month. Sigh... retired but too young for ss so I'm not even on a fixed income; I'm on no income

"Totaled it about a moth ago" what happened and who's fault?
Ultimately, it was mine. Headed to work before sunrise. 2 cars had gotten in a small wreck in the passing lane. The got out to exchange info and they turned the car off and didn't put their hazard lights on. I never saw them and hit the back car going about 45 MPH. My Explorer flipped on it's side. Luckily both parties int he other cars where not in there cars (there were in the grassy median exchanging info. I walked away with only a couple of bruises (across my chest where the seat-belt was and my lower stomach where I assume the steering will hit me. No tickets were given, but for insurance purposes, I was liable for everything.

I purchased another Explorer after living through that with virtually no injury. I am sold on their safety.
