Hahaha People just don't get it.....Elon Musk did this video to show that the CYBERTANK is SUPERIOR to the F150 and it's true, there was no lie in it or being unfair, Tesla wants to show that their CYBERTANK can pull very strong and take the F150 for a ride uphill!!! Think about it, what's the point or the excitement for that matter of showing a video of TWO (2) CYBERTANK playing tag??? No winner right?? Even FORD got offended so quickly and want to challenge the CYBERTANK with their own and if FORD comes up with a heavier truck with bigger engine to use, then of course they'll win and now who is being unfair????? People tend to jump to conclusion without seeing the big picture.;)

This is why Paul needs to learn from the Elon school of PR. A super short video showing a tug of war got tons of publicity and it was all over the news. Elon knows a cheap pr stunt reaps rewards. If Elon was in charge of Elio, there would have been a number of these PR stunts and would have resulted in 1M reservations in a week. People would be hammering Elon for the Elio. With how Elio did their snow video, it was done cheap but demonstrated nothing press worthy and thus no press coverage.

It goes back to what Elio did with all the prototype money. With only a couple of them running, they are too valuable to do anything that might damage them. For a publicity stunt I would recommend them have a couple of well known basketball players 6.5 to 7 foot tall get in and out. Or maybe passing a gas station and honking it's horn.

I would have taken the last one they built, pay two 6'8"ft basketball players to start from NY and go to LA. Do a blog on Youtube. Since the Elio goes 672 miles on a tank they could start from Times square and go to the Santa Monica Pier. That's 2807 miles. They could do it in a 5 part series as the Elio would only need 4.1 tanks of gas, 33.4 gal and of the price of gas was around $3 (at the time to make this viable) then that would be just $100.25. This would have been great because people would see how efficient the Elio is and for a micro car, it still fits two basketball players.

That would almost work, but not much room for their clothes. Might need a roof trunk and that would reduce the mileage a bit. Still, not a bad idea. Might even be fun to have a race against a Tesla, across country, with drivers taking turns and driving 24-7 at the speed limits. My guess is that the Elio would win as the refill of gas would not be as bad as recharging the Tesla.

Any gas car would win if you had to obey the speed limit. Now if this was something like the Cannonball Run...then it would be a race.

The Elio goes 107 mph and the Model 3 is at 130 then the Model S is 155. The reality is, on real highways in the US, even 107 for the Elio is impossible for most of the trip. As we know a test has to be with a production model not a souped up one. Since the Elio now has double the power, the top speed will easily be above 120 mph. So with the 672 miles on a tank vs 325 for a 3 and 373 miles for an S then even with a hot rod charger, you'll need at least 1.5 hours of sitting while the Elio only takes 5 minutes (that's including a bathroom break). In addition to that, you don;t have to hunt for an Elio recharging station or one that's a hot rod charger. This means you can easily get a realistic 650 out of every charge. For the Tesla, you'll need to plan it out and might have to stop early, which means more charging stops in the end.

For the Elio, 5 stops maximum at 5 minutes each. That will be 25 minutes.
For the S that will be 8 stops at 90 minutes each. That will be 720 minutes.

The Tesla will have to make up 659 minutes or about 11.6 hours. For both, if you wanted to be cannonballing it, then both get worse mileage per charge yet in the real world, you can't drive even 90 mph in the real world for hours on end. There's trucks and traffic. so in the end, both have to accept this reality and i do not see where the Tesla can cut too much into that overall time. Maybe 30 minutes max. So, the Elio wins and you can get a good nights sleep before the Tesla shows up. For the Elio, $100 in gas, as for the Tesla, not all of the chargers are free because of location. maybe you might spend $30 on electric. Cost wise, the Tesla wins with $70 but you only spent $7450 for the Elio, while you are at about $45K to $80K for the Tesla.

Now, Paul needs to get off of his butt and do this. It will bring in tons of investors and get the Elio on the road for 2021. All it costs is no more than one years salary he got. If that's what it takes, then Paul will be a billionaire by the end of 2025. Time for Paul to show us what he's been selling us for the last 10 years. We know the numbers are correct, so show everyone else it is. Even the DoE will loan you that money once they see this.

The first issue here is that neither the Model S nor the Elio would be getting EPA rated range at those speeds. The second is that on current V2 superchargers, the Model S would be charging from 0-80% in about 40 min or less. Thirdly, by the time a production Elio could come to market (according to Elio's timeline) the Model S will have a tri-motor variant that will most likely be using Model 3 batteries and have a range of 500+ miles, a top-speed closer to 180 mph...and access to a V3 Supercharger that could recharge from 0-80% in less than 30 min.

This is mostly hypothetical, of course, we don't actually have any solid/tested numbers for the Elio...nor the tri-motor Model S. The Cannonball Run requires exceptionally high speed, which is why people racing use Italian cars or souped up German vehicles.

In the end, Elio could do this and I know it would be pro Elio and make Elon look like a fool. Give Elon a taste of his own medicine.
