Not for me. I freak and want to go in for a complete colonoscopy whenever I drop one at just the right angle and get splashed. For some unexplained reason, I HATE that sensation. And for the image you now have in your head... You're welcome. Look at what we've become waiting all these years for the Elio. Old men talking about TP and poop.
You need to try it. Especially in Japan. They are overboard on bathroom cleanliness. Honestly, I feel pretty darn refreshed after taking a dump. I really like that someone is there to clean the bathroom after every person. it's just like the Germans where they get obsessed with something and go over the top. In Japan, it's bathrooms. Germany seems to go overboard on coffee machines. To the point where it's almost impossible to figure them out. Trust me, German bathrooms are nice but Japan took it to another level.

On the other hand, you know what we have right here in the US/ We have mugs of coffee and not those small cups. I like the small cups of them but after a while I want a pot of coffee where I can fill a mug. Not that half baked "Americano" coffee they sell which is an espresso that they just dilute. All while in some $30K coffee machine. Don't even get me started on the Currywurst in Germany.

LOL! Thanks! It all started out with BS and ended up with POOP. :) We leased a house by the lake in CdA for a couple months to get a feel for the area and to insure we liked the community. It happened to have a TOTO. Odd at first, but over time I miss TOTO.

We did meet some interesting and nice people along the way.

Governor of Ohio shut down all the restaurants and bars. Take out only. Went to grocery this morning for my chocolate milk. Had the milk and they did have some bread. The water, toilet paper eggs, meat, and even apples were mostly gone. Looks like they got in a little sanitizer. Gas is about $1.87 In addition no groups larger than 100 allowed. One nice thing, in Ohio the liqueur is sold through state stores. They recognized that many bars bought extra for Saint Patrick's day so the state is offering to buy back any unopened bottles.

I think they should just shut down everything for two weeks. Get it over with.

Plus the Dayton HAM-vention is cancelled! It’s like Mecca for us Hams.

This will put the hurt on Dayton which could use a ‘shot in the arm.’

I’m still unconvinced we are not overreacting in a big way. I like the irony that if it is true that the (popular) news media are over—amping this, that the first ‘hit’ is advertisers pulling their ads. Already in my market there are more PSA and station ‘self promotion’ ads. Ad revenue with sports, in particular, has got to be abysmal. Reap what you sow!

For the sake of conversation, it is my humble and unprofessional opinion that one’s getting thru this possible ‘super flu’ is wholly dependent on the health of your lungs (that is becoming more apparent). I am an ex smoker and am mildly concerned about that. I haven’t seen a breakdown of the worldwide numbers as they relate to smokers and smoking. I believe that the Chinese, Europeans (particularly Italians), and other ‘hard hit’ countries have smoking rates vastly exceeding ours. This could prove to be the lynchpin.

FWIW, my wife is a physician. She does not believe we are being overly-cautious...and I think Italy is a good example of why (368 deaths in the last 24 hrs).

This needs to be contained. We do not have enough medical personnel, nor medical devices, to keep up with a virus without taking severe steps to contain the spread. Even these measures are creating issues however...since kids are no longer attending school parents have to find a means of care. For many, this will mean one parent stays home...for hospitals and clinics...it means they're going to lose much needed staff.

COVID-19 is bad news, and we haven't even come close to hitting peak virus. Not to get too political, but the WH response to the pandemic (calling it a hoax, and initially stating you could go to work sick) have only made things worse.

The US is almost out of face masks. The million masks Jack Ma is sending will not help much. Our government also waited too long to prepare. My wife has been working the virus preparation seven days a week for the last three months. The Chinese took her protocols seriously while the hospital that she worked did not. My wife was an expert on the SARS virus and is a lot more scared of this.

One thing to remember, the Italians are like Americans. Extremely nationalistic and thus a number just didn't care because they somehow thought that would not be affected. Plus their political system is a disaster. It makes most other countries look excellent. Then, they are very social which is the opposite of the US. they like face to face interactions and spend lots of time in cafes. Especially the retired. not just cafes but unlike in the US, they go to the market every day and buy what they need, not like us where we go once a week and stockpile in a pantry and a massive fridge with most likely an extra freezer.

Yes they do smoke and I can see why that is not helping the situation but on the other hand, most older people here in the US smoked a pretty good amount too. Just not so much today.

Italy is a good barometer as not what to do. They politicized it and why the delay in reaction plus why a percentage of the population didn't care to where they lived life like nothing happened. Now we see where they are at. I see Spain or France coming next. Similar way of life and similar division politically. Germany is handling it better but in typical German fashion, they do it their way and most of the population gets on board.

Things are looking better at my local Meijers. They have eggs, milk and lots of vegetables/fruit. Even bought some bananas. (Their green, but they will ripen soon enough.) They got in toilet paper last night, but it sold out quickly. Same thing with bread. They did have cinnamon swirl though. Meat department was still pretty low, but I did see a bunch of packages of meatballs. Pizza still low. So it looks like their catching up on the panic. Maybe another week they will be, if the suppliers don't run out.

One good thing about shutting down public gatherings is that it should also reduce the other diseases, like the flue, common cold, and yes, even measles and pink eye.
