It is out of the three wheeler business. So might as well be out of business then. All they make are maintenance grounds equipment now. Sad to see them done with three wheelers and no plan for the future. I’m wondering if FUV forced them out with their lawsuit against Aryo. Must be because three wheelers are the next big thing and now you have to play nasty to keep your business. Hopefully they don’t go after Elio.

I believe the suit was a red herring, as they probably stopped production long before the suit.

Holding up traffic only applies to the LEFT LANE. If the signs say MINIMUM SPEED 40 and you are slow in the right lane, you are good to go.
Perhaps in your state. I was just letting you know about AZ. Should be even less likely you'll make it here with a new top speed of 25mph, so no need for you to worry about AZ laws.

No new top speed! Will be restored to 100% soon. They left the replaced potentiometer in, when trying new controller. Factory wants them to try original pot with new controller. If that doesn't work, I am told that factory service dept. will get involved in resolving issue (don't know how that will work).

Well, not wishing to discourage anyone, but driving an under-powered vehicle in today's traffic is surely not recommended. Whether that is a Chang Li or an Ayro. I imagine there are people here who still remember the early air-cooled Volkswagen beetles or even worse a VW Microbus. The earliest ones had a 1300cc, 36 thundering horsepower engine (and typically a long line of frustrated, fingering, cursing, drivers stuck behind the VW on even a modest to moderate hill).

Under-powered vehicles have no business on a busy highway, even a secondary highway. Many young drivers don't understand those limitations and will overtake an under-powered vehicle without even realizing it can't maneuver rapidly . If I buy a Chang Li (and then soup it up of course) it will still be for strictly low speed use. There is no sense in trying to complete with the huge, dual axle, crew cab pickups towing luxury trailers that populate American highways.
I had a brand new 1976 Super Beetle and regularly hill climbed with it. 45-degree earthen dam faces and the like. It had a fairly slow 0-60, but it did fine on the interstates.

I had a 1972 red primer painted VW Westfalia camper van that I got in early 80s. When we visited the wife's parents in Merritt Island, FL, I practically had to hold my breath crossing over the Indian River on the Beeline Expressway bridge, as it slowed down quite a bit on that fairly steep bridge! I bought it for $500, and sold it for $350 a short time later, as we were moving to northern Alabama, and it used a lot of oil, as it had a cracked thin walled aluminum block. Would have kept it, simply adding el cheapo oil regularly, had it not had that issue.

Update!!!

Well, 3 months have gone by since my 4 mile trip & breakdown. The latest is yesterday, I actually went down to dealer in WPB (about an hour away), and I gave then an ultimatum: either give me a FULL refund, exchange for another brand new unit within ten (10) business days, or I file a complaint with the BBB, contact my lawyer, & make reports to Yelp, ripoffreport.com, etc., etc.

Well today I called them for a response to their ultimatum, they said they ordered a new motor. Hopefully this does the trick!

Wanna bet? I say they didn't do anything.
Never make threats without actions, they know your hot, and they just said that to keep you quiet.
Talk to the person that supposedly ordered the motor, and ask for a copy of the order/info on who he talked to.
Then you call the place that he ordered the motor from, I'd bet they never got a request.
They said that just to put you off. Have your lawyer call them, and see what they say, I'm betting there was no phone call from the dealer.

They have your number man, and they are just BSing you

3 months on the shop is the real BS because it shouldn't take that long to fix it if they know what's going on. Get the refund and move on!
