I sat in the P4 today with my wife. I'm 6ft. She's 5-5. With her knees poking into the back of the driver's seat my right knee while positioned to use the pedals was riding on the dash. I could have moved the seat further forward if the dash wasn't in the way. Hopefully the production dash won't come down as low as the prototype.. If it dose it will be virtually useless as a two person car.

I sent EM a question about this. I'll let you know if they say anything useful.

A friend restored a Jaguar XK-E and didn't really bother checking the fit of the seat and dash when he got to final assembly. He could wiggle around and get his foot on the clutch, but he couldn't lift his foot to release it. He's tall and all legs, and I'm all torso - but I had the same experience in the car. Lifting my foot to engage the clutch would bang my knee into the bottom of the dash.

In the market for a commuter car in '95, I shopped the Honda dealership. The Civic actually was a better fit for me than the Accord, thanks to the placement of a center console on the Accord that flowed up into the dash. It caused my right knee to rub the dash rather hard and was very uncomfortable. I ended up with the Civic because without that broad center stack it was a much better fit for me. Saved a few bucks too!

I'm 6' 240 lbs and had plenty of room in front and in the back. However my wife (petite, 5'4") was not with me when I sat in each of the seats so I don't know how we will fit in it together. Guess I will have to try it again with both of us when it s here in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. I don't envision that my wife will be with me in the Elio very often. She enjoys the creature comforts of a larger vehicle when we travel. I am excited about traveling around in my Elio around town and on solo adventure trips.

I'm 6'4" and currently at 318# - on the way down from 350# at the first of the year. My wife's 5'8" and well ahead of me toward her target weight too. While our Elio will be primarily for my commute, she was the first to suggest purchasing one. Although she likes her comfort, she's also the adventurous sort, and as long as she has shade and cold AC, she's good to go. I think we'll get a lot of fun taking a few daytrips on weekends with the Elio next spring (fall?) when we take delivery.

Taking inventory of the times we use the minivan, it's pretty obvious the Elio is going to be our primary mode of transportation. Except for a couple of monthly shopping trips, we don't really need the cargo or passenger space for probably 95% of our trips. If you think about it, the Elio will serve pretty well as a commuter, urban runabout, and occasional daytripper. Now, as a tourer, we'll just have to wait to see how overall comfort in the backseat plays out against adventure over a period of several days.

Meanwhile she's eying the True Blue with Automatic . . . if it came in purple she'd own one already. We could be a two-Elio family at some point in the future. Then my wanna-be cowgirl-rockchick daughter pronounces the Elio "cool" and starts looking at the Licorice color . . . I can't see her trading her beat-up 20 year old pickup yet, but maybe image isn't everything. Or maybe she sees it as a Hog with AC. Watch this space.

I am around six feet tall and tip the scales at around 360 pounds. I fit front and back. still have more of my own parts than prosthetic ones but it still was no problem.
I fit great, my wife fit great, but I'm telling you together it did not work.

The room is potentially there but the production dash bottom will have to ride higher than the P4 dash. Some on here are nuts about safety. I'm not one of them but because I could not put the seat any farther back and the way my leg was physically ridding on the dash even a minor collision would result in a broken leg.
