My father and his 10 brothers and sisters were raised on a 2,000 acre ranch between Roseburg and Sutherlin Oregon. On of my fathers older brothers, my Uncle Paul (there's that name again) married an only child by the name of Olive Grubb who was raised just across the road and became my Aunt Ollie, she never had a drivers license and never left Douglas county Oregon in all her 95 years, she became the 'historian' of the family. All the family reunions were held back on the 'Home Place' and if any of my aunts or uncles had a question about when some relative was born, got married, had children or any other milestone in any of their siblings lives, they asked their sister-in-law, my dear sweet Aunt Ollie. The ranch now belongs to my cousin (Uncle Paul and Aunt Ollie's son).
The first person to greet me to this site of course was "Z" I'm sure many of you can relate. Shortly after I got here I contacted "Z" and asked if she knew any of the Sutherlin Crawfords or was familiar with the ranch. She replied back that she had only moved to Sutherlin 5 years ago, didn't know any of my relatives but did pass by the ranch every time she went from Sutherlin to Roseburg to socialize at the YMCA. The wife and I had planned to take the E-car back to the 'Home 'Place' next year, just to visit family and of course meet "Z"
Today feels like I lost Aunt Ollie all over again

I am very saddened to hear of Z's passing. My condolences to her family and friends. She was always such a strong presence and supporter of this forum and it's members. I always loved reading her posts and enjoyed her humor... A true lady and a very nice person...
I'll borrow some words from Broken Trail...
“We are all travelers in this world. From the sweet grass to the packing house, birth till death, we travel between the eternities.”
Rest easy Z, you will be missed... God bless.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. I always enjoyed Z's posts and her unwavering support and enthusiasm for the Elio and this forum. Her family is in my thoughts as well as all of you who met her and had the chance to know her. Peace.

What a shock! As I read these past 7 pages my tears won't stop. But I also can't stop smiling as I realize the how many people Z has touched with her fearless & unwavering positive attitude. She was definitely the queen of this hive.
Goodbye Queen Z!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened this thread. I would "LIKE" to have a 'Z' sticker for my Elio when the time comes.
"Z" kept positive information flowing on this board and it renewed my interest when doubts about the Elio came to my mind.
R I P --- we will miss you here.
